Good free graphical editor

Looking for a good yet simple freeware graphical editor - tried Gimp, didn't quite like it (I'm mostly a programmer and can't spend too much time learning to use this kind of software).
Currently using PhotoFiltre - not bad, does the job, are there better alternatives?

I like Paint.NET. It's not a Photoshop replacement by any means, but it can do the basics just fine. Clean, simple interface... easy to learn.

Nothing stands in front of photoshop or corel draw meanwhile you can use advanced web seriff plus...................
