Site review: How's the load time?

Just launched this wall sticker and decal site last month: Lana Decals - Home decor to transform your wall into a work of art!

How's the load time for you?

Any recommendations on layout or functionality?

Does the site look professional and trustworthy?

Thanks for your input!

  • Page load is not too bad considering the number of images

You could reduce the sizes of some images.

The front page is somewhat cluttered to me, just an assortment of products thrown up against the wall hoping something's going to stick/sell. I don't intend the pun, but I'm at a loss for an alternate way to describe my impression.

    • I disagree to a point, one thing I would susgest is mabe on your boxes put a solid 2px border make the background a little darker then your background on the main page, *shrugs* The best thing to do is, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT? Had it made and money yet? IF so or if not how much traffic have you pushed to it. What type of traffic? good luck its a great start that is for sure!

  • Haha thanks for the tips. I changed the front page a bit today.
  • When I look over a site I never ever look at what other have stated before I make my own opinion and I am proud that you have a kick ass responsive site! WTG it loads fast it is clean love it love it love!
  • Loads fast for me.
  • thank you for the feedback and suggestions! sales are picking up and there is decent organic traffic coming in. I just started using 7search as well.
  • It loads fast for me. I will say that it looks more like a blog than a store to me. Not that it looks bad, it looks pretty good but some better navigation couldn't hurt. I almost said categories for people to look around, then I noticed you had them up top. If I missed them, others will too. Just my .02. Good job though (and good luck!).
  • Very fast for me as well, and I'm in Thailand. Kudos to Bluehost!

If anyone wants to improve load speed then check external JavaScript and other calls (especially 3rd party ads).

I made FindAForum MUCH MUCH faster by putting the Alexa stats box in an iframe. Then my site loads quickly without having to wait for the Alexa box to appear (which often takes a good minute!)...
  • Site loaded really fast. Suggestion - it took me a bit of clicking around to realize that there was more than one page of decals for each category - maybe make the additional page icons bigger and also put the next page icon up at the TOP of each page too.
  • It's not consistent.
I loaded it several times. Some are slow (~5s+), some okay (~2-3s). None are "fast" (~1s).
It's Bluehost throttling that causes it.

    • Thanks for the responses.

      Hosting is by Shopify btw.

  • Load time is great considering the number of images and you're using shared hosting.

Designwise, you're lacking many things that it needs to look truly professional. The obvious giveaways are the fonts. The words don't seem to match well together. They feel awkwardly placed and in different shapes and shades. The typography doesn't feel as refined and precisely placed.
