Seeking Advice -

Hey

We have been developing a kindness based blog Kindness Blog | Here There Be Kindness... since April of this year (hoping to spread the love) and things seem to be picking up in terms of interaction and visitors/views. Last month[October] we had over 10,000 views for the first time and this month we are already averaging 800 views a day.

Can any of your learned folks please cast a critical eye over the blog and recommend and advise anything we are missing, need to do, things that displease or could be added etc? Sorry if this is a little vague, but we are fairly new to 'blogging' and so any and all advice will be much appreciated.

    Are you planning to monetize your blog? It's not readily apparent to me that you are making money from it.

    If you don't plan to monetize, then you're doing a great job. I like the clean uncluttered feel of your site although there is a lot of scrolling to do. You might think of trying a 2-column format with all the sidebar stuff to the left.

    Just one other thing. This may sound a bit "picky" but all the top sites use underlined blue text for their links. You might ask why that's important. For a non-money site it may not be. But most viewers are conditioned to click on blue text links. Of course, the way to really tell how important this little change is would be to test both red and blue.

      In the short term, probably not, but longer term we would like to purely so that we can devote more time to doing what we love.

    Total links on your post page are 274 - Google recommends 100 - Remove Tags widget
    Your tags are open for indexing which will make your pages plagiarized with inner plagiarism.

    There are many other things I would suggest you to install Yoast SEO Plugin, I will setup the plugin for free if you want me to do. I am a professional On-Page SE Optimzer.

    You need to set Google+ Author with your blog and your Google+ profile. This will surely boost your visitors.

    There are more things that can be done.

    Without clicking the big menu, there isn't a lot happening 'above the fold' - maybe change the layout where there is more than one story without scrolling down. This could be difficult to do with the size of images that you are using. Also, are the images optimized for the web? Load time seemed slightly slow here.
