Suggestions on What You Would Charge

I am in the process of building a website for a client. I have read a ton of threads on how most web designers and developers charge for their services, but I wanted to get the opinions of the people in this section of the forum.

I would much rather charge it by the project, not hours worked.

The website has the following:

1) WordPress Premium Theme
2) Theme Customized (Fair amount of Customization)
3) Premier Contact Form Plugin
4) Custom forms built for Client, Confirmation Emails, etc
5) Sensei Installed with courses built, Integrated with WooCommerce
6) WooCommerce Installed and Integrated
7) Some Content was Provided by the Client but Most of the Content is originally written, by me
8) SEO Plugin and SEO optimized

I would like to hear what you guys are thinking as far as how much you would charge.

I appreciate any help I can get!

First of all: I would definitely separate the two task:
    - make/develop/design a site
    - create content

They have nothing to do with each other and I'd never venture into such a project, btw.
Unless you are an excellent writer and an excellent coder in the same time - maybe you should think it over...

    Have 2 contracts:
    1. for development
    2. for creating content

I understand where you are coming from but I think you are wrong, in my opinion. Sure, website design/development and content writing are two different disciplines when WE look at it. But, to a client, both are apart of the single thing, their website.

It is your fault that the client thinks content and web development are the same thing. I always explain that content should be provided, or if they prefer I can have our copywriter create their content at an extra charge. Never intermingle these two things, they are extremely different and will only complicate things in the future.

I didn't explain myself well previously. I do explain that content and design are two totally different things. What I meant initially, is that a client has it in their head that content is a part of a website build. I did not mean that this was correct. But, you can be sure that if I have someone who needs a website, but does not have content, I am not going to turn them away. I will charge them for the content creation, as I explained to the client referred to in the OP.

^^^ One more reason to stick to web development

Being able to write content that is clearly understandable should be a basic requirement

(sorry, I had to comment on this... :p)
