Looking for some seasoned Veterans to review my Web site.

Supergiftsearch.com

The goal is to help people brainstorm gift ideas when they're stumped. The site lets you turn on some basic filters and then plasters you with images of potential gifts.

I'm trying to make this thing a genuinely useful app but right now it just feels a little spammy.

What do you guys think?

I think the site can work if you can get the right traffic for it.
    A few suggestions:

    - get rid of the "Go!" button and apply changes automatically by creating onChange events for the drop downs.

    - write the product names at the top or bottom of each cell

    - implement a tag line which advertises the inspirational purpose

Your idea about the site is great but this will not rank well if you do not put content to it. I suggest aside from the list of photos, you at least try to incorporate useful articles as well. By putting content you may also use and optimize keywords for your site.

On the design side, the header looks like crap, sorry. The gradient is way too heavy handed- lighten it significantly or go flat.

fix the CSS to get everything centered vertically in the header (a table might work, but there are other methods. vertical alignment is still the biggest bitch about CSS), as well as the images centered (use a div wrapper with "margin:0 auto;")

use a better font. Google fonts aren't the best, but they are free and easy. I'd recommend Montesserat for the header, and a different font for the logo (which is non-existent really). Body you could roll with any mainstream sans-serif, like Helvetica.
