Secrets of the Fed - Secrets of the Fed.comSecrets of the Fed

At times I have been surprised to find out that what I thought was a custom site was actually a premium theme, in combination with people who know how to make the most of its features.

Can anyone tell me something about this site? If I wanted to create something like it, would I have to hire a custom site builder or simply purchase a theme?

Thanks!

If you look at the HTML source there's usually several calls to JS and CSS files that are in the theme directory. For example, try to search for style.css. The url you're looking for is formatted like this:

    {site url}/wp-content/themes/{theme name}/style.css

Google "{theme name} wordpress", and if it's a free or premium theme, you should find out.

It's possible that the website owners rename directories, but that doesn't seem to be common.
    Signature
Links in signature will not help your SEO. Not on this site, and not on any other forum.
Who told me this? An ex Google web spam engineer.

    What's your excuse?

I have checked the HTML source, and I know it is designed by WordPress with Yoast WordPress SEO plugin.
And the WordPress Theme name is GoodNews.

Purchasing the theme (Goodnews theme) alone doesn't give you a full blown site like what you see on secretsofthefed. com

It still takes effort to customize it. If you like the theme and have no time tomplay around with it, you may buy it and get someone else to customize it for you.
