It's lacking value proposition on the main page. Good to place some bullet points (on the main page) to explain what this site is all about.

    Design looks nice ;-)

I will be adding a small logo next to the site name , im working on one at the moment

That's not a major thing if you can tackle the worst problem of any new marketplace: getting visitors and sellers. I hope you've got a solid strategy for this. Keyword "memorabilia" doesn't seem to have that much competition, but search traffic seems low too.

All the best to your project!
Thanks nettiapina, i made the template plain as i like adding as i go along

i know its not going to be easy but for starters i will be offering a free trial period as the site is new where there will be no seller fees and doing a bit of contacting businesses to list their products while building up the seo, i usually have about 3 or 4 projects i work on throughout the year but ive decided to stick with this one full time this year.

        thanks for the support paul

    1. It seems lacks something to hook the visitors. Good header or logo is one thing. Maybe you need to add some other elements to your homepage, including who are you, why us, etc.
    2. Maybe you can implement a live chat solution to the website, which enables visitors talk to you real time. There are many vendors for your option, such as LivePerson, Comm100 Live Chat, etc.

    Good Luck.

It almost looks like a redirect page or one of those buy this domain! Very vanilla, which isn't necessarily bad, it just doesn't have anything to catch the eye. It needs to pop.

My biggest criticism is that I don't understand the point of the site at first glance, and even after browsing it, I'm still kind of guessing...

I agree with others that a quick little phrase, slogan, or motto describing in 10 words or less either your target audience, the main purpose of your site, or the question or problem which your site is the answer or solution to. In short, explain the WHY of your site so I'm not left wondering whether your site is a museum, a marketplace, or something else altogether.

eliminate the .ws Just leave as "memorabilia" or better yet, find another word to go with memorabilia that you can get the .com for... perhaps you can find a domain that you can pick up immediately in the .ws or some other tld that down the road you can get not too expensively in .com something like "memorabilia shop" or "memorabilia lane" or "memorabilia avenue" (if a marketplace)...

Some great advice in there and thankyou, i chose the .ws domain as i wanted a challenge and a single dictionary keyword domain, i know .ws has a bad rep but i am willing to work with this and i need to leave the .ws on for branding

            thx Paul

If you're thinking about branding, you're going the wrong way. The stuff jsr1969 suggested is actually branding with your domain name. You want something people can remember, not the other way around. For example, "memorabilia lane" is somewhat memorable.
