1) Have multiple unique forums so that when a user registers for one, they can also post on others. So I would set up Forum A specific to Site A, Forum B on Site B, etc. A visitor goes to Site A and registers on Forum A. But by registering on Forum A, they will also be able to read/post on Forum B if they visit that site as well. So multiple sites with multiple unique forums, loosely related to each other which will allow me to build a network. I have seen sports networks do this with fan sites. You can register as a fan on one site forum, and then go to another site/forum and banter with rival fans.
2) Only thread/post headlines are visible until registering. So a site visitor can view all the thread headlines (but not the actual post contents) even though they are not registered. I suspect this is a common feature on most forum platforms but since I have little experience I thought I would ask.
Since I am new at forums and need to experiment a little, I am hoping there are free ones that I can start out with, and then upgrade later as needed.
Any ideas, suggestions, tips would be much appreciated! Thanks!
