Hello,

I would appreciate if you guys could spend some of your quality time to review my website (Anti-aging treatments - Look and feel young, health beauty tips and Anti-aging treatments - Look and feel young, health beauty tips). Give me your honest and critical review. I don't mind being critized and shot at. I'm interested to learn to be a good webmaster which is not an easy task.

Thank you for the time. ;-)

  • Hi
Your site looks nice and clean. a few issues that I noticed. Your content link leads to a 404 not found - your fun link leads to a 404 not found. The links in your horizontal header all open new pages. I would suggest opening the links on the same page.

other then that your site is great

    • Thank you for taking the time to check my website and highlighted broken links. Also TQ for reminding me to open links on same page instead of new.
  • What is the goal of the site?

First thing that came to my mind was to click away as the site wasn't visually appealing and lacked instant purpose.

Good news is this can all be fixed.

    Step one: color

Spend some time thinking up a base color and then harmonize with that color. These colors don't harmonize well and you get that "cheap feel" because of it, which destroys credibility.

    Step two: text

Are you trying to sell this product or? The text is a bit orphaned at the moment. There's an intro paragraph that leads into a picture that leads into testimonials (didn't even know I was reading testimonials at first).

This all leads to another paragraph about taking pride in this or that (picture needs to blend better too) and then I'm at the end of the document.

So, you need to figure out what the idea action for this page is and structure it accordingly.

    Step three: Nav links

Take a moment and redefine your nav links better. One is named "content," which means nothing to visitors and another is actually named "link."

Think about what your visitors are likely to expect and communicate that to them. While you and I might use words like "content" to refer to articles/other on a site, typical users don't.

In closing, making some quick changes could improve the page big time.

    Good luck!

    • Good attempt. I think you need to look at a site that you like and study what elements draw you to it. Then take these elements and integrate them into your design.

Templates are great for this because you can edit them in source code mode and fit them to your needs, why reinvent the wheel, right?

    • My appreciation to you for taking the time to post a review of my webiste. Honestly speaking I admit my main site (Anti-aging treatments - Look and feel young, health beauty tips) was done in a hastily manner not impressive at all.

I concentrated most of my time(upgrading) on my subdomain (Anti-aging treatments - Look and feel young, health beauty tips) when I first started. Being an amateur, I did not design the site with typical user's impression in mind. I assume visitor already understand what I'm trying to convey instead. You're right that I should design website with typical user's mindset.

I kept on adding different topics to my subdomain. Then something pricked me. What if visitors type my domain instead of my subdomain? That prompted me to hastily put up something which I assume will redirect them back to my subdomain should such incidence occurs. That was the motive of my main domain which I had earlier neglected.

I've to admit that I'm very poor with base colour and colour scheme. I like to match my header's colour which is green. I hope you could give me your suggestion as to how to improve my base colour. ;-)

Concerning the text, I'm no good either. I used Arial size 12 'cos I 'assume' elderly visitors will have problem reading my articles (most of which are posted at my subdomain) as I myself being 49-year-old also appreciate bigger text fonts. I'll happy to hear your suggestion on this matter too. ;-)

I'll take note of your suggestion to redefine my navigational links.

One favour which I like to ask from you is "plse visit my subdomain (www.anti-aging.eglobalhomebiz.com)" and give me your view. I really like constructive remarks like yours who can pin-point my weakness so that I can improve more. Thank you so much again for the time.
    • Plse spare some time to visit my new page : Facial exercise to look and feel younger (less pics on it)
Facial exercise to look and feel younger (more pics on it)

Am I going in the right direction now? I'm trying out all suggestions posted here.
  • I would seriously consider getting rid of all that stuff in the sidebar, bringing the main content up and centered, getting rid of the green background color in the content area (have it be white), getting totally rid of those green-gradient headers that say CONTENT and WELCOME etc., and switching the general color of the borders from bright green to a light blue.

Aside from that, think about the content, the posters above are right in that you need a clear and specific message or 'call to action' to be the main motivator of the page, and that message needs to jump out right at the start... this is if your planned main sell is your affiliate products.. if it's adsense it doesn't matter so much.

Speaking of adsense, I have had much higher CTR when I used square blocks nested inside the content than with leaderboards like that.

You are right that having taken action is the right thing to do of course, otherwise you wouldn't be receiving feedback at all Also don't take anything here as gospel and do your own tracking and testing of everything.

    • And don't forget to match your footer colors in the toup.html page, with your main pages (HOME | CONTENT | PRODUCT | LINK | FREEBIE | FUN).

It's pretty evident that your "Disclaimer, Privacy, Terms of Use" link on the footer has different footer codes when using Firefox. I would also consider changing the Title of the toup.html page the same as the displayed link @ the footer.

But, just like you said, when one is in a crunch, one fails to spend more time in planning the website. One immediately dives to Design with out the plan.

I know because I'm one of them.

      To our success!

    • Thank you so much for the input, I built a new page and got rid of all stuffs I used with my previous design. I use square block nested inside the content as suggested by you. I just concentrated on Adsense and put a text link to my affiliate product. Plse give me your views on this new page : Facial exercise to look and feel younger
  • I'd use PNG images instead of JPG to make the graphics cleaner. Check the color noise on areas around texts.

    • Thank you for sharing. I'll try out your suggestion.
  • it looks very simple, nothing too professional but it's good enough for it's purpose. Just make sure to invest some of the earnings on a new design if the results are good.

Good luck and keep up the good work

    • Thanks for visiting. I do aknowledge it just a simple website. I've not reach the professional level yet. With the scale of : 1-10 , I would put myself at 1, still green.
  • What I've found in designing and testing many sites is this...

    Often UGLY sites convert better.
Most of the time and depending on the niche.

For some reason, people seem to trust unattractive sites better. So while I would say your sites need to look a bit more PRO they COULD be fine as is.

TESTING is King. That's what I'd suggest before changing anything. Run some clicks to it, then from there you can make an EDUCATED decision.

After all, you NEVER know unless you test. Don't forget that!

  • Thank you for sharing. May I know what font type and size are suitable for website? What's wrong with my favicon. Any suggestion?
  • Well just came visiting your site. First thing i wanna say you is that the layout is not eye catching at all.It should have been sober with good color combination.

Secondly, the navigation button. It always opens in a new button which is not at all a good thing for your visitors. The fun button redirects to a 404 error page.

    Thirdly, not enough content.
    Work hard on your website
    Good luck
