Hi,

Should I be using visited link colors in my site?

That after not using them in my site for some time, I came across an internet related book, saying I should use them?

And that there are also some professional sites out there that don't seem to be using them as well?

What's your take on this?

Thanks!

I would say it's not a big deal as the browser already does that automatically for you. You should only be customizing to use your own colors if you're using a template with really uncommon colors or an uncommon color scheme.

Generally you should be using it. That way it's easier (faster) where you clicked and where you didn't, especially if you do lot's of interlinking.

I think you should use it. It helps the user to know which links they have visited and which one they haven't. It's from my personal experience so it maybe different for each people. Just customize the color from your site's css if you don't want to use the default one.

I'm a web developer, and the way I usually do it, is that for menu, navigation, header and footer I keep the color the same, no matter if visited or not. In the content of the page or post, I definitely do use different colors for visited and non visited links.

Exactly, content area is the best place to have defined visited links!
