Hey guys,

I have a problem and I cant seem to get my head around how it can be explained but here goes.

I have a business that needs a website. Their main are of business is selling cars so the websites needs to be totally geared towards selling cars. The site has a high DA and good rankings for overall car dealership keywords.

However they sell cars to consumers and businesses. They used to host a separate cars website on a sub domain that was geared towards consumers only "www.consumer.cars.com" but the rankings weren't so great. since they moved the site into the domain "www.cars.com/consumer" the rankings improved My questions is this....

The consumer section has about the same level of content as the business section, but at the same time it goes into more detail, also consumer cars have more variables so therefor the consumer area of the site needs additional levels of navigation. Where as the business area of the site only needs 3 levels of navigation.

What is the benefit of me creating a site just for businesses, and then imbedding a similar site with the same layout but with more navigation levels into it, giving it the same navigation menu structure, color scheme logo etc. The difference would be for me to gear it towards consumers. Rather than to just add a consumer tab to the main menu bar of the B2B website.

My idea is to make the 2 areas of the site totally independent, for the B2B area I will need to develop a more corporate UX for the site and in the B2C area I'll need to create a more user friendly layout with clear CTA's.

I need to know how this benefits SEO. If it benefits SEO. If your wondering why I need to do it this way its because the stake holders want the 2 areas of the business to be integrated into one site but still show a clear differential for the 2 areas of the business, B2B and B2C.

At the same time the site needs to be totally seamless so that consumers get what they need and businesses get what they need.

I need to know how this benefits SEO. If it benefits SEO over adding a menu item, or over a seperate site/sub domain.

Any suggestions would be great, sorry cant show you the site its a signed off project.

Thanks in advance!
