Does it matter if a header title is an image or text?

Is there any marketing/SEO benefit to having the title of a site in text? I'd like to be able to create something in photoshop so I can have more control with how it looks. Is there any disadvantage to image titles?

I'd prefer to do it in html/css for maximum search engine compatibility. Just about anything you can do with a title in photoshop can be done with css as long as there is a similar webfont.

If using an image provides the best appearance for your page rather than coding text, you can at least include a semantically-relevant term (keyword) when naming your image file.
