The type of logo you are looking for is called a wordmark. I recently had one done for me on envato studio. You can look through designers past designs and some of them make logos for under $50.

The guy I picked said it would take 1 day to complete, but it actually took 3 days. But I was happy with how the logo turned out so it wasn't a big deal.

As a graphic designer I can that you generally get what you pay for.

Many designers would hate me for this but you could try posting a job on 99designs.com, that way you set the price and people compete for the final product.

Seek out folks on Logopond. You will be looking at spending a minimum of $1000 but if you're serious about your logo (which ultimately represents your business) then it's a must.

Do not use a logo design service on Fiverr, you will just get your text typed out with photoshop and a weak symbol in front. There are some very good logo guys here on WarriorForum, just look at the WSO section.

Fiverr is probably the best site you'll find. $5 is cheap and the quality of graphics on Fiverr is high, so I can't really recommend anywhere else when you have Fiverr around.
