Wordpress Q & A Functionality?

Okay so I really just want to add a single page to my blog where users can ask a question and others can answer them. I've tried a few of the plugins like WP Answers, CM answers etc. but it seems whenever I activate them my whole blog takes over that theme, like I just want a Q and A on one page on my blog, anyone know how to do this?

  • You can achieve similar with Buddypress.

    • Oh thank you, seems cool. So this is basically just user accounts and profiles with a friending system? I will use this! But I still need to make a page for users to ask q's like yahoo answers
  • If you really want all of the functionality of BuddyPress then cool, but just a heads up that not all themes are compatible with all of the special pages it has and not all plugins will work with it as you might think. It's a great plugin, and I've used it myself, but it might be overkill if you just want a Q & A page or some basic user interaction.

    As far as adding just one page, what do you mean that these plugins you tried "take over" your theme?

    If you can explain a bit more about what you're trying to do, I might be able to give a better answer. What does the Q & A process look like in your mind?
