  • Thanks for adding more confusion to a topic that is already slightly confusing to me! LOL JK.

    I know I am probably missing out on what custom fields can do, just haven't wrapped my head around the concept yet. I have used some theme's that use them for adding images.

    I would be curious how others use them to their advantage?

    • Here are a couple ways I have used them. 1) Promo site for a magazine.The custom field shows the page number and volume of the magazine that the image is taken from
      2)Custom field added to user profile to store scores from online tests
      3)Directory sites -store info for the listings like telephone numbers (probably be built in if using a directory theme- but I find those do not all work properly. Doing this makes it easier to set up better searching.

  • You can use custom fields to add informations about your posts, products or anything else you have on your site. Also you can create a custom search and many other things if you know how to use them.
    I don't really see the point of this topic but anyway, if I use a plugin for custom fields then I prefer Advanced Custom Fields.
