I've just installed Wordpress at the 1st attempt, it didn't take too long, had to get some info from web host, but once varified it all went well. For some this may seem like a walk in the park, but for someone with little knowledge it has been an achievement.

      I pondered for days about whether I had the ability to do it, it was seeing all the excellent plugins on offer and what they could do that really gave me the push to do it. Still learning though, maybe 1 day i'll be offering WP sites to newbies??!!!

      Are there people who can make specific themes for a specific website? Mine is about Vitamins and Minerals and would like a theme that reflects this.

        If your looking for a custom theme the easiest thing to do is go to the Wordpress theme directory at wordpress.org/extend/themes/ (sorry I can't post links yet seeing as I only have 5 posts). Just browse the themes there, pick one out and uploaded it to your wordpress installation and you'll be able to change the look of your site with one click.

          Thanks for the info, I have looked through the WP themes but don't really feel they reflect the content of the site, so would like a custom theme built to make it look professional.

            Instead of purchasing an entire theme for a vitamins and minerals blog, you can have a custom header made for a lot of the free themes. Just take a look at the overall theme you're interested in then imagine a new header graphic at the top. A lot of people do this; 20 people can be using the same theme and each one can look completely different.

    OK, I just wanted to make sure you saw those first. I'd hate to see you pay for one if there was a free one you liked just as much.

    Another place you could go to before you pay for a custom theme is wpthemesfree.com. They've got even more WP themes and they're all divided into categories so it might be easier to find one you like there.

    If you decide to do a custom theme there are people out there who will do it for you. I'm not sure of the price ranges but you can submit your job to scriptlance.com and most likely get it done for a bargain.
