I previously posted my website and i think i have finally customised it enough and made it look as modern as possible to suit my products "Modern Furniture"

Please let me know if there is anything you think that would be beneficial for the website!

Looks nice and clean for the most part! Footer looks slightly cluttered, maybe condense that a bit? Page load also seems a bit slow, perhaps trying optimizing that a bit with the images, etc.

Thanks! I will look at altering the Footer, I'll try to decrease the image sizes to increase the load time.

Creating a vector logo would also be great.

Is this so i can scale the image or is it smaller in image size?

      Thanks

    Hi MJHiggins

I like your site, looks modern and clean. It looks very professional especially with the layout. The thing I will change is the "NEW" banner, you can try and move that closer inside the tab instead of it sticking out. For everything else I give you an A+

Looks fantastic. The only thing that could be improved in my mind is the Awards & Reviews section. Could use some more content here, looks quite sparse.

Your newsletter pops up on every page, least looks like it. Even if I reload the page, it loads again. Should be set to load only once for each person or IP. Will REALLY annoy your visitors and might make them leave the site.

Contact form in left footer shows out of place in Opera. Probably becasue the main page shows "boxed" in Opera. Course how many people use that browser.

But looks like a nice site over all. Though the prices look to have the biggest font size. Unless you want it that way.

Yeah i felt the same way about that section. I will look at spending more time there to make it have that more professional feel! Thanks!

The newsletter must keep poping up on just Opera, I know it does not continue to pop up on Google Chrome. Thanks for making me aware of it. I will look at making it more compatible with other browsers.

I just tried it in IE, Chrome and Firefox and I get the popup on every page I go to. Click through a couple pages on each. Don't think it's my system, I don't get popups like that on other sites.

    Site looks good!

I only got the newsletter popup the once ... but then I clicked the "dont show me this again" checkbox in the bottom left hand corner". Personally I always dismiss these types of popups - why would I sign up to a sites newsletter when I've not even been given a chance to see the site? Which leads me on to my next point - where do I sign up to the newsletter once I've dismissed the popup? I couldn't see any link? It also said in the popup 'do you want to sign up to the Black and White newsletter'. Is this the theme name?

I'd have a look at the margins on the contents blocks on the home page ... resize the browser window and you'll see what I mean. At 'full size' there is a white space between them, as you make the browser window smaller this space is lost and blocks start stacking.

Do you need all those JavaScript libraries to be loaded? You look to be using jQuery, Scriptaculous and Prototype libraries. I'd try and rationalise it down to just the one.

    What's the site build on?

Its built on Magento with a theme so i have not implemented it to much, I just have customised to for my own likings. The idea is for the images to start stacking so if its viewed on a smaller device it is easier to scroll through rather than zoom in and out constantly to soo the information.

Sorry I don't think I made the point very well. What I should have said, is that the padding between some of the blocks is lost when the site is viewed on smaller screens with some of them butting up against each other. I think it just breaks the flow of the layout a little.

Ohhhhh, I understand, Thanks i never really noticed that!

The only part i am unhappy with now is the product page, I do not think it looks clean enough at the moment

For me ... I think the image on the products page advertising the 10% off is too heavy and dominant. I think the ad needs to be a little subtler and lighter? I think it would look better if you lost that third column unless you are going to use it for more ads?

I also think that you need to look at the spacing above the tabbed product description - it looks a little detached from the rest of the page (that may be compounded by the amount of space created under the images and the 10% ad)

Minor point ... on the product category pages Coffee Tables - ModernHQ - Home of Modern Furniture the 'Arletto High Gloss Coffee Table' image is bigger than the other ones, just breaks the consistency

            Just my thoughts ...
