Looking for clarification on how to set up vendor site for affiliate marketing

I am looking to set up a sales page to sell our ebook. Can someone fill in the gaps for me, this is my first one like this.

I can set up the sales / squeeze page but where does it go from there?

1.) If I register my product as a vendor with Clickbank (or some other similar service) do they take care of the checkout and then re-direct back to my download page?

2.) Does the hosting for the squeeze page and download page have to be the same (i.e I was thinking of having the squeeze page in wordpress and the product download hosted on my other website?

3.) Which affiliate marketing service is best to work with in terms of ease to set this up and customer service (clickbank or ... who else is out there)?

4.) Are they any advantages / disadvantages to using a wordpress theme for the squeeze page?

5.) Any hints on getting a newbie product out there and gaining affiliates - we are offering 60% commission on sales and the product is excellent quality but how do we get the affiliates to see our product and sign on?

Million questions I know, any one recommend a good read or have time to answer would be much appreciated.
