Artisteer designed wp themes - suitable to sell via ThemeForest?

For some years I have been using Artisteer to design and build my own wordpress themes.

Seeing a post yesterday in the main forum about making money from Theme Forest, made me think if i am missing out on something. So my question is, "are Artisteer designed wp themes suitable for selling through theme forest"?

If so, what are the required files to upload to Theme Forest? any ideas?

Thanks for your replies in advance.

I am not asking about the design itself, but more the use of Artisteer as a design platform. I am not a programmer or coder or whatever, but I like to use Artisteer for its simplicity.

The website in my signature is one such theme.... not the best I have ever done ..but it suits me for my purpose. ..but again, i am not asking about design itself.

      Thanks for your response.

Hi Graham, I'm curious to see the article you are referring to. Do you have the link?

About your question, are you saying that you used one theme (Artisteer) to build a completely new and unique theme? And you are considering selling that theme?

It would seem that the underlying theme code would still be present and be governed by its existing resale license terms, no?

In my opinion they would not be approved by themeforest in the first place, since they require a high level of coding on the theme's files(and also comments on each function,) not something Artisteer does, also the top seller themes on themeforest are actually theme frameworks (which can not be designed by Artisteer and can take up to a full month of work to develop). If you believe though that your theme can compete with the themes on themeforest you might give it a try.

Sorry, I don't and I have just been searching on the wf to see if I can find it... the guy who posted it stated that he outsources Theme design and then sells through Theme Forest ...it jost got me thinking about the possibility of marketing themes designed using Artisteer.

      Thanks for your feedback.

Definitely not, the amount of quality design & programming of each WordPress Theme being sold to themeforest is top-notch.

There are reviewers before your product gets approved. Poor quality themes will never see the light of day.

    Hi Graham,

Although it looks like your query has been answered well. I would like to share my thoughts as these might be helpful for you.

I am a WP theme developer and know the exact way ThemeForest themes need to be.
ThemeForest has a strict set of rules for design and code quality.
You can check this infographic for better understanding http://notes.envato.com/wp-content/u...-nopattern.png

I am not sure if Artisteer would generate WP theme code as per WP Codex Standards.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!
