SSD hosting

Can anybody here recommend a web host that offers hosting on SSD's instead of HD's.
I've been to some sites but of course they claim to be the best and fastest. I was looking at A2hosting.com. They look good but you never can tell. I've been with hostgator for about 8-10 years but I use the WordPress platform and a lot of times when I'm logged into my WP dashboard making changes to my site it is very slow.
So... Anybody have any solid recommendations.

  • i switched all of my sites over to LiquidWeb. I highly recommend them. Their customer service is the best I have ever experienced (ticket response usually within 30 minutes!).

    I have their VPS plan (without SSDs) and the speed is sufficient for my WP sites - much better than HostGator where I was previously at.

    • I switched to Digital Ocean for my personal sites 4 months ago, so far very happy with them. You can check them out.

  • I use WiredTree. We moved all of my databases to a SSD a couple of years ago for a very high octane service I offer, and I have been very happy with everything. I don't believe they offer shared hosting though, just dedicated or VPS.

    • I want to say that a2hosting.com is the best host which provides inexpensive and reliable SSD hosting services in the IT industry.
      They have solid servers and their tech tsaff is skillful and helpful.
  • I've had good experiences with both Rackspace Cloud and Amazon Web Services. Both do offer SSDs, though I'm not sure what all the fuss about SSDs is about. If you're running a DB with high I/O needs, yeah, I get why an SSD would be important. But at least with the web applications I run, the speed of the CPU is more of a limiting factor than the speed of the disks.
