Subdomains vs Subfolders - Whats the best option?

Hi Everyone,

I am not new to web development but I am new to internet marketing. I am currently learning the ropes of pushing sales via the web. So I would much appreciate it if you guys could give me some advice on this one.

Consider the following.

•I am not interested in using SEO to rank websites for traffic (it's a waste of time in my opinion) I'm using paid traffic
•Multiple domains can chew into your marking budget (that's money that can be injected into advertising, hosting and auto responder fees)

But I want to test conversions for multiple products in various niches before I scale to an independent website.

So,

What would be the best website structure to use for creating small websites under the same domain? i.e. (Subdomains vs subfolders)

Here's an example. Say I want to promote webhosting offers, would it be best to use?

Subdomain: Hosting.TopNotchReviews.com

Or

Subfolders: TopNotchReviews.com/Hosting
