Hello everyone!

Okay, I am so into outsourcing until I have literary lost touch with the reality of web design totally.....So playing around with dreamweaver the other day, I remember that when I am focusing on my own website and designs, better ideas start to surface in my head as I am in the actual process of doing the work myself , opposed to using a freelancer. So my next site, I will design it myself. My question is , does anyone know of any program easier but almost the same in quality as dreamweaver? I see tons of products but I would prefer a shortcut to the best programs.

Notepad++ is comparatively best code editor software.

For the features like Dreamweaver have like live preview and responsive editor, etc.? Kompozer has it, but as best as Dreamweaver? none as of the moment. But if you're in to coding and server and database integration there are plenty of it.

Sublime text all the way...that is if you dont need drag and drop stuff, it's just a lightweight code editor.

    I agree with mikea12.
Sublime is all you need for coding.
But, your post seemed more about design... so,
Mockup the design layout you want, it's really personal preference.
Some like using Balsamiq mockups, and for pixel perfect detail, create in Photoshop or Illustrator.
Then just open up Sublime (or PHPstorm or Notepad++) and code it.

If your coding experience is lacking your better off to use something like Genesis, WooThemes, etc... and apply your design idea to it.
Programs that "spit out" themes for you are severely lacking, usually poorly coded, and have amateur stamped all over them.

WordPress is the way to go

you can do fancy designs in WordPress if you wish using dreamy

but common WordPress is the ultimate program even the big boys are using

for training on WordPress go to YouTube

Most people use Wordpress these days but you can also use Artisteer to create stunning templates just by pressing buttons. It's an ace piece of kit and you can produce Wordpress, php sites, joomla! - practically whatever you want - the beauty is the coding is all in the background and you do it all visually - check out my site I made with it.. (no I don't need the visitor! )

Visual Studio is much better than Dreamweaver. You can get the express version for free.

Dreamweaver is about as easy as it gets. However, for newbies, it isn't always a wysiwyg

Don't think any one can really give you a good answer, as you have not really said what your going to do, or want to do.

As for making webpages, I love dreamweaver, been using it for many years. Builtin smart FTP is the best part.

But these days I use wordpress and only dreamweaver to edit files and the occasional webpage.

Notepad++ all the way, with a WAMP local server, makes developing pretty fast.

The ONLY time I ever need Dreamweaver is when I need to work with tables easily - one of my sites has tabular data. Oh, and with tables still being pretty standard for email - drafting newsletter emails.

If Dreamweaver provides every thing as per you need so why you want some other software. I think that Dreamweaver is the best one and this is an ever green software for designing field.

I agree with Glenn, Dreamweaver is really user friendly. Its perfect for an amateur. Of course there are many other options as mentioned by the experienced personal above. Good luck.

Dreamweaver very user friendly? Come on, your giving terrible advice about something you clearly have not used. It's not that difficult to use, but it's not the most user friendly.

Not the best way to boost your post count or get your signature seen.
