Default CPA for Beginners - including me

Hi Everyone. I have been reading the Warrior Forum and taking some private coaching on CPA for the last 6 months. I have bought just about every WSO and ebook I could fine. Well, I have grown tired of being a tire kicker. So I am going to start a blog where newbies can begin this process together, add comments and ideas.

I am not looking to get signups, sell anything or scam anyone, I am really just going to start to hold myself accountable for my success in CPA. If anyone is interested in a blog, let me know. I will update this post with my blogspot blog this evening after work.

My goal with all of this is to take what I have learned and put it into action. My goal in 30 days is to:

Launch X number of successful campaigns
Get 1 campaign at 20.00/day
Begin with free traffic
End with PPC and free traffic
SO at the end I have at least 1 campaign at 20.00/day and several more doing better or the same.

Please remember this is not a WSO, coaching or some "list" building opportunity. It really is me giving back to the WF because so many people here have been wonderful to me.

That is pretty awesome stuff and holding yourself accountable is hugely important. Wishing you the best of luck.

Your goals seem very reasonable, which is important. You need to start somewhere right. In my opinion, the most difficult part is gettign over those initial barrier. The first two weeks are the hardest. Once you clear that, then earning your first profitable campaign is the next barrier. Then momentum shifts onto your side and its all about taking your modest campaigns to the next level.

The good thing is that you are full of information, so now the goal becomes putting that information to use. You said you purchased every CPA WSO out there and you have been on this forum for a real long time. So, I have no doubt that you have the knowledge necessary to make serious things happen.

You know that taking action on that knowledge is the next step. You know that. Actually doing it is monumentally more important and I have confidence that you will strap down and make it happen.

As for your PPC campaigns, here is one pointer...which you probably know, but for others' sake and perhaps for yours, here goes.

TEST SMALL - MOST WILL FAIL, BUT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THAT ONE CAMPAIGN WITH POTENTIAL TO RAMP UP INTO SOMETHING HUGE

the goal of testing is to find those little nuggets. Dont waste your hard earned capital throwing good money into bad campaigns. You need to spend money on small tests to see if there is potential in a given campaign and for the majority of campaigns, there wont be...

ANALOGY TIME

Let me see if I can come up with a fishing analogy. Lets say you go to a pond, you have a pack of worms. You throw a bunch of worms to the surface of the water and all the fish come up to the surface and eat the worms you threw out. Guess what, you just wasted a lot of worms. But that's okay, you got to see the potential of the fish in the pond. There were no big fish in the pond after all.

You proceed to another pond and again you throw a handful of worms into the water. All the fish come to the surface for some free lunch. Again, there were no big fish in the pond. You wasted another perfectly good handful of worms, but you got to see that there were no big fish in that pond either. Of course, we are only looking to fish for the big fish!

Okay, so you realize that in order to catch a big fish, you need to go to a yet another pond. Okay you find another pond, you throw out a handful of works, and all the fish come to the top for a free lunch. Bam, you see your fish...its a big juicy, huge largemouth bass. Perfect. You now know that you should focus the rest of your fishing efforts on that third pond because you know theres a big fish in this one.

If you spent your day fishing in the first or second pond, you would have went home without a big fish because there were none in that first pond. But, in order to know that, you had to throw away perfectly good worms in both of them.

Stupid analogy, but you get the point. When doing PPC, you need to do small tests and most will fail. This is like throwing the perfectly good worms into the first and second pond. You lost worms and money, but it was a small test to see if that pond was even worth fishing in.

Finally in the third pond, you saw that there was a big fish in the pond, so you had to throw away 3 perfectly good handfuls of worms to know where to fish.

If you spend the day in the third pond, there is a good chance you will come home with a big fish. Its not 100% certain but at least you are now throwing fishing in the right pond

Not gonna lie, this is one of my better analogies haha. But you get the point guys. You throw a lot of good money away when testing PPC campaigns, so you need to do small tests to really find out which campaigns to focus the rest of your money on. I would rather focus the rest of my day fishing in pond 3 than in pond 2

Great idea Evarda

I've been looking to get into CPA for sometime, but have fell at the first hurdle most times... simply getting accepted into CPA networks!
A blog for absolute begginers would be very welcomed mate.

Thank You

They are all reasonable goals, just remeber think of the long term, it will be worth it. If you ever get bored angry and tired, take that day of, it may take an extra day but the quality of your work will improve.

Hey evarda,

That sounds like a great idea! I know back when I first started with CPA, I would have loved to have someone that I could follow and relate to. It's really tough sometimes to have to go it alone. But remember, you can buy all the guides, ebooks, and coaching in the world, but the only person who can make it all come together is you.

So I wish you the absolute best of luck in your journey and, hopefully, you'll be able to look back on this and see it as the day you stopped being a spectator and got into the game!

Better put it in your sig so that if the thread dies as most journal threads do, people will still know where to find it.

Agreed. Its a fantastic idea but in my experience, too many times I've seen journal type concepts die...either because people quit or they become successful and dont wish to share any more.

Its funny how a lot of people who hit big suddenly start living under a rock. A natural yet funny phenomenon

I was one of those hit hard fast and die kind of marketers. But I found if I hold myself accountable I do much better. So I am doing the blog and will continue to blog until I am reaching my goal. No hidden agendas or gimmicks, just a person who sees others making it big, wanting that for herself.

I do not wish to do it, I WILL DO IT.

LOL

I like your 30days plan
So far I haven't try free method yet (yes, I know I shouldn't omit it)
because firstly i'm impatience, I just want fast results.
I jumped into PPC straight, with some 'tier 2' network (aside from the big 3 PPC).
Since then I getting positive results
But I definitely will focus on free traffic after I get comfortable with my CPA earning

Keep in mind that there are many free ways to get traffic instantly. It may not be as targeted or as much volume as with PPC< but dont think all free traffic is as long a play as SEO.

Congratulations of finally getting started! Nothing wrong with building a strong base so you can hit the ground running. I like your goals, just remember that if you don't hit them don't give up. Keep plugging away at it until something works. If you work hard and smart enough at something IT WILL WORK! Good luck bud and keep us posted!

You hit a good point. Setting high goals is great for motivation. I personally set high goals and then get borderline manic and obsessive with achieving them, perhaps because I am ultra competitive with myself. That is also why I tend to achieve most of my goals, but I dont achieve all of them, as most people dont...or else they probably aren't setting them high enough.

With that said, use that same motivation and competitiveness to work even harder and smarter if you dont achieve a goal. If you are anything like I am, then you will be super manic and super obsessed with making up for not achieving your failed goal.

Setting and achieving goals is a whole psychological war in itself, but it is a very powerful tool to get far in life...both personally and professionally.

Ken
