PPC Campaign Testing - Optimize Your Ads

Hey Everyone!

This is just a little guide/video that I made about how to get started with PPC advertising. I made this guide specifically for anyone who is starting with a low budget and has little experience with PPC. Hopefully you checked out my other guide (which can be found HERE) to see how you could make $50 with no costs up front. The whole goal was to get free advertising which then could be transferred to money in your CPA Network account.

This time, however, I am going to be telling you exactly how to start making a PROFIT when starting out with PPC Campaigns. In the video, I just show how to start out making a campaign and choosing a keyword. Here, I would like to go more in depth stressing exactly what you should be doing.

The first thing that you are going to want to is pick an offer. I would suggest one of two things. The first thing would be to look at the EPC, which is the earnings per click, and pick one of the offers with the highest amount. It doesn't have to be THE highest offer, but the higher it is, the better (as long as you are getting targeted traffic). The second option is to talk with your affiliate manager and ask what offers are converting based upon your plan of attack (PPC). I would highly recommend developing a good relationship with your affiliate manager to get some good tips.

After you pick which offer you are going to promote, it is now time to set up a campaign. In the video, I go over exactly how to set up your campaign. The idea is to use words and phrases that appear the exact same way on the offer description and the actual page. Make sure to tell the person exactly what they have to do after they click the link. Another important thing to remember is to have the display URL the same as the URL you are sending them to. You do not want people to think that you are "tricking" them. After you have the campaign all set up and ready to go, you are able to start choosing your keywords. Probably one of the most important things is to make sure that you send the offer to people that are able to complete the offer. For example, if the offer is only for people in the United States and Canada, you only want to send people from the United States and Canada to the offer. If people from other countries click on the link and complete the offer, it will not count! It is very important that you set up the link for targeted traffic.

To keep on a low budget, you should only pick out one keyword at a time. Just run one campaign that sounds like exactly what you are promoting. Then you can test your keywords one at a time. Make sure that the keyword gets enough searches, or it won't even be worth it. To keep a strict limit, I would suggest setting your daily budget to $5-$10. After you use up your daily budget, write down your profit/loss. If it a profitable keyword write it down somewhere. Then you can test out another keyword using the same method. Once you get a decent amount of keywords, you can add them all to your campaign. After you have a profitable campaign, set up one for another offer. You can also set up your proven profitable campaigns on other advertising networks.

If you are willing or able to spend more, you should probably set up multiple campaigns at once. There are two steps you can take if you are going to spend more money. The first one is to set up multiple campaigns at once that all target the same keyword. The idea is to see which campaigns convert better just based on the text and image. After you figure which campaign is converting the best just based on the text and/or image alone, you set up multiple campaigns that each target a different keywords. After you get a list of the best converting keywords, you now have an optimal ad. Now you can set up the exact same campaign in different places. After that, look for another offer and repeat the strategy.

Optimization is the key in PPC advertising. You want to be able to test, retest, and then retest again. This will lead you to making the most money as you can from the different offers you are promoting. Good luck with your PPC Campaigns!

Well, I would set up some sort of small daily budget. I usually use a search engine called 7search where I can find keywords for .05-.10 each. So, if you spend $10 and have a .10 keyword, you will get 100 clicks. For most offers, that should give you a good idea of if the keyword is good or not.

There are lots of ways in which one can find additional traffic sources. I represent one of the more popular ones, 7Search.com.

If you are looking for an alternative way to generate traffic to your offers 7Search might be able to help. I will share a twenty percent match of free traffic to a new acct that is created. Email me bstanley at 7search dot com if you are interested in learning more.

    Nice method, mate!

I have run some campaigns with Bidvertiser (mainly promoting email/zip submits with polls) and it's possible to get a good ROI there if you target the right placements. They don't have great traffic or a lot of volume (actually, volume is their biggest problem), but clicks are very cheap there.
