Decent International Traffic

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good source of international traffic? Other than the major search engines. I've tried a few of the ad networks but none seems to be too great at this either.

Just in case anyone wants to ask "which countries?", it doesn't matter so much. Say Finland. Or France.

Thanks in advance,
SnowCone

Apparently I can't send PMs until I have 50 posts or post an email address until I have 15 posts.

Facebook? Second Tier engines? I think Adsonar and Pulse are supporting it although I haven't used them much lately. But of course the major's are always good. If you're having issues running certain things that are prohibited in the US, the rules can be different overseas with those same media providers.

Also Adtech just happened but it's an amazing show to get int'l traffic sources. Especially the NY one.

      Thanks for the response!

I've tried second tier engines but the traffic volume usually is very low. Any one which is different that I might've overlooked?

I haven't used AdSonar, I'll check them out.

It's really not about anything prohibited by the US - just can't use Google (banned me for a ridiculous reason), Yahoo is problematic for foreign traffic (need a local account for each country, it seems) and I believe - perhaps erroneously - that Bing is not good for international traffic.

I've been to ad:tech and actually collected lots of business cards & brochures, just so many to choose and I don't know which ones are actually good. Those that I've tried so far have not been.

      Thanks again,
      SnowCone

Oh, also tried Facebook and it's not bad. The problems it has are (a) ridiculously bad interface (b) strict approval process (c) the offers must be opened through Ireland or the US, so if you have, say, a Romanian only offer, it's not going to work with FB...

Im using Google adwords. You can filter down to the exact country. The rates are very very cheap, even for adwords. Im getting 3rd and 4th placements for $.07. The problem is, not much traffic out there. Overall impressions average less than 2000 per day but I think you'll find very little competition. Im getting 4-5% CTRs.

there is one huge hint. Make sure your ads appear in the native language. I got .01% CTR with my ads in English.

Thailanddave, I wish I could. Google banned me (for utterly absurd reasons). That's why I'm looking for alternatives.
