Successful direct linking to clickbank?

Hey everyone. I have been doing some direct linking on YAHOO Search Marketing to CPA offers and have been doing pretty well, but I feel like it would be even better with Clickbank because some of the product sites are really well put together and already have testimonials and other content as well. I dont wanna hear about how direct linking will get me banned or lower conversions blah blah because yahoo allows direct linking and im tired of being lectured on how capturing emails etc is so much better, to be honest I dont care. I just wanna hear from you guys if you have had any success and made some profit directly linking to clickbank products with PPC. Thanks

You need to do some keyword research and need to be inventive.

Go to ezinearticles.com and see which articles get a LOT of views. Now find from them the ones that promote clickbank products.

For example you will find some articles doing well for "is wife cheating".
And then you will find that the article links to a reverse-phone-lookup-clickbank thingy.

Now you can create a PPC ad with the same concept:

    keyword:
    "is wife cheating"

    AD:

    Is my wife cheating?
Find out now whether wife cheats
by looking up who keeps calling her...

I do but if I told you I'd have to shoot you

Of course you can direct link. Just note that many CB offers may have auto audio or popups on teh page that many PPC ad networks wont allow. But look in their affiliate section/links at bottom of sales page as many offer alternative landers without those annoying hooks. HTH 8)

        Hi mpbiz,
There are many success stories at clickbank, if you want to have a look at them Google it out you will find plenty of them, but if you want to have a success secret then research different strategies developed by different people and then carve out your own strategy this would lead you to better circumstances. Just try to be innovative and try different methods.

why is it that 95% of people that respond on this forum sound like they didnt even read the op.... Dude im not looking for clickbank success stories im trying to see if anyone out there successfully direct links with ppc straight to the cb product sales page, instead of using a "middle" landing page they created themselves

*EDIT* Getting tired of people spam posting and making profiles so they can put a backlink in their sig....

I've had success w/ direct linking. But you must use the TIDs on your hoplinks so that you can accurately track every individual keyword. It's near impossible to make a profit if you're not accurately tracking your ppc links. Also, you have to know when to cut your losses and move on. There are too many knuckle heads out there that don't know what they are doing in ppc and drive the price out of profitable range. You have to recognize when this is happening, and NOT compete w/ the knuckle heads. Just move on until you find the profit sweet spot.

Thanks alot garyvy! Finaly some good news. So i guess like you said the only thing is taking the time to add tracking ids for each individual keyword/ad group or howeveer you wanna do it. Thats awesome though, if you dont mind me asking, do you regularly direct link and make a good profit, or was this like a random one time thing or you direct linked and had some minor success? Thanks again.

You don't have to manually add tacking ids to every keyword. You can use a tracking system like Prosper202.

    Hey mpbiz,
I tried direct linking on some CB products on Google Adwords, but all my ads quality score are really low and they don't show up in Google search result at all. Do you have the same problem on Yahoo?

This is something I've started playing with. But it all depends on the niche and the merchants landing pages, the better there landing page is the better off you will be.

Make sure you target "buy" keywords and make your ads reflect this.

I used to do this quite a bit the key is just find High converting offers high gravity low refund rate.

I used to do it on Google but you cant do it now I got my acount slapped for redirecting.

Just bid on variations of product names of a popular product that gets searches. Ive had campaigns paying over a dollar a click that converted at a nice profit, the best thing about people who are already looking is they are already interested in the product and conversions can be quite high (high for clickbank 5%+) I started with like 20 keywords, highley related to product name or web address, then just weed out words that dont convert and turn the campaign of at times of the day where its not profitable

I think if you want to branch out to related keywords that are not directly related to the product your best with a landing page however if you already know it converts you know your not wasting your time making one.

    Hope this helps

p.s. you can add a tracking pixle in clickbank to track all your keywords go into account settings in clickbank and go into intergrated sales reporting you can add pixles for Google Yahoo and MSN

I'm going to subscribe to this thread because I'm curious to hear if you continue forward with this strategy. I've never done direct linking, but if it is viable on smaller PPC networks, it may be worth it to make some quick money without a lot of work.

It is funny how old threads come to life again and the many responses / to the op yes you can direct link and yes you can make money by doing that / how ever all of that means didley squat in a gum tree full of possums because just because one person does it / does not mean the next can do it.

next just because you can direct link does not mean you can direct link to everything / as mentioned there are many other checks in place pop ups being only one, next is site quality / does it meet googles advertising terms and every other factor.

Also unwritten and as found out is the quiet black hole nobody talks about and that is as an affiliate direct linking your account is open to suspension for no reason of your own, you are reliant on the vendor keeping the site compliant. So if you value your adwords account i would want to trust the vendor 100%

This is from having my account suspended for promoting a how to build a boat site ( i have my account un suspended now ) but one of the very few.

others have had their account suspended through advertising how to do woodwork, and then there is a mass of sites on clickbank with SEM creative who if you used them would see your account suspended / supported by some dodgy affiliate mangers who know squat about SEM / PPC / adwords rules and peddle crap to try and get a sale.

For the money i would never suggest any one promote any cb affiliate product in any way with adwords unless they knew the vendor and that the site complied with all of adwords terms or risk a short love affair with google as in a one night stand / that was fun while it lasted love.

You are better of creating your own product where you can control the site and or working in other affiliate areas well away from CB and type products.

I think I gonna try that.

Direct link with adwords is a remote past,
but Yahoo is a different story. And as all
IM bizz models, you need to try, check and split test
befire having any profit. . .

For the money I would never suggest a cb to promote all the products in any way affiliated with AdWords if they knew the seller and that the site meets all the AdWords terms, or the risk of a brief love affair with google one night / it was fun while it lasted for love.
