I have added a couple of CPA offers onto a game site that I have. Now don't get me wrong I only get about 40 visitors per month but to be honest there isn't much on it and I have done any work to it.

Does anyone have experience of offering CPA games on gaming websites? Is there an ideal place to put the ads?

Are Twitter and Facebook fans/followers good for gaming websites?

I always used a review site back in the day. All my links where on the upper left side of the page since this is the most common area for a visitor to look!

What is your site featuring: game reviews, actual games (flash), guides/walkthrough's, etc.?

With text-content such as the reviews or guides, maybe experiment with the placement a little bit. See what stays within the user's peripheral as they scroll through.

If you're featuring actual games (and have enough of them) you might want apply an overlay or content-lock strategy set on a delay. That way you hook the users on the game then feature an ad-supported gateway.

Usually, bannners that are on the top left and close to the content generate more clicks.

You could try some download offers that are related to games or are actually games.
One other possibility would be a content locker but it could cause all your traffic to bounce since players are known to be inpatient and can leave your portal quickly. The only way I read about that content lockers work great is when a new game comes out and some marketers make walkthrough guide for it and if they are among the first few who publish it, their offers convert quite well. In that case, you really need to bust up some PPC traffic, while the game is hot.

Try incentive offers. With them you eliminate the offer popularity factor to some point, because now you are in control what reward your visitors will get if they follow your instructions and fill out some offers.

And remember, it doesn't hurt to ask your affiliate manager if what you're doing is allowed by the cpa company. Especially when you are trying a new method.

Gaming traffic is of very low quality and doesnt convert well. I think you may need around 4,000 visitors a month JUST to make some kind of money. Anything else is pretty much pointless, as its just redecorating a store without anyone coming in.
