Promoting My Affiliate Network

Hi Warriors,

I'm a newbie to the affiliate world and just started managing my companys affiliate network. We just set up our affiliate software and got everything in place. It's a CPL program that pays $5 - $25 depending on quality of lead.

The question is where do I find good affiliates? Do I sign up for CJ,Shareasale, start cold calling sites, email, forums etc? What are the best practices to find affiliates for my program?

Any advice you guys can share with me is much appreciated

Yeah, I would take it to the CPA/affiliate networks like cj, neverblue, and or maxbounty. Give them a call, they'll walk you through.

Do you have a CPA network or some other products/services affiliate network ?

If its your own network with some products/services then I'd suggest to contact Neverblue, contact site owners,etc..

    Regards
    Sam~

You could either run your own affiliate software (jrox, idevaffiliate), or see if you can get your offer added to networks..

Try getting it on CJ for starters.

It really all depends on your niche.

Thanks for all of your posts! I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.

We currently have our affiliate program running on Post Affiliate Pro. We are in the small business financing niche and pay per lead. ($5 - $25)

My company provides a FREE online service that matches small business owners to lenders willing to finance their business needs. Business owners answer a few questions, get matched to the best loans options, and chose the right loan. It's that simple. We're partnered with local and national banks that provide over 3,000 different small business loan products. Loan products include SBA loans, equipment loans, microloans, business lines of credit, accounts receivable financing, and many others.

Where is the best place to start getting more affiliates for my niche? Do I register my affiliate program here? Other directory's? Cold call etc?

Can anyone offer some best practices on recruiting affiliates?

    Thank you for any help!

      Hi Lenny22,

Not as we have anything against in-house affiliate programs as they do offer more control over how you manage certain elements of your affiliate campaign, but often you will find that affiliates are very cautious, perhaps sometimes too cautious when deciding what affiliate programme to join.

A trust factor is definitely something that pops into every affiliates head before joining a private affiliate programme.

Who should I trust more? A network that only makes money when affiliate sale is tracked or a private programme that makes money every time a new referral is introduced?

In terms of finding new affiliates; try joining the most popular webmaster forums, smaller niche specific forums, add your affiliate program to Directories like TwistDirectory.com , work with existing customer base (let them know they can make money by referring new businesses), announce your affiliate programme on social sites, submit articles about your affiliate programme on article directories, submit press releases and of course the old fashioned way - approach manually.

On the other hand, we are currently building a merchant friendly Affiliate Network that might have answers to all your affiliate related questions and concerns. The Affiliate Network we are working on is called Paydot. Unlike most of the networks out there Paydot's main focus will be to educate merchants not affiliates. (Affiliate training will be offered through our partner portal.)

In case this is something you might be interested in - we are currently on the lookout for new merchants who might be willing to participate in our BETA testing phase; set to launch in January 2013. As with any BETA phase, there are certain benefits to joining us as a BETA tester!

One of the great bonuses to joining up with the BETA version of the Network is that as a merchant, you will not have to pay any Network transaction fees for a period of 12 months after your campaign goes live. Then; following the first 12 months after the join date, you will only need to pay affiliate commission and the Network transaction fee will not be introduced until 2014 - but ONLY if you join our BETA!

Setting up your affiliate campaign with Paydot will be 100% free and as straightforward as possible; and with no setup fees involved, you will only have to pay when a sale occurs!

There are plenty more attractive features that we will be able to shout about, but about them later.

If affiliate recruitment is something you are struggling with, then perhaps Paydot's step by step merchant guides will help.

Hope this helps and feel free to drop me a PM for more details if interested.

      Wishing you success!
