What do you think of my very first PPV landing page?

Playing around with photoshop, and the end result is here. Since I'm reading and learning rock solid info here, feel free to use it on your campaigns if you want to. It's my first freebie I can give back to this community.

I've tried to catch the attention with this creative, drive the surfer's eye to the "link" at the bottom. It's a really simple straight-forward lander, I know, but hey.

Please spam me with suggestions do's and dont's how to shape landers like this.

My idea is to send the surfer to the email submit offer page to get the hang of the game, and later on I might want to collect them to my own list. But I have to register a PO box first... one step at a time.

The lander is a simple gif, 74 kilobytes.

    i think it's great mate

i would split test your cta though.
see, "find out how to get it" sort of puts the visitor into a "reading" mode, and may increase the number of people who will pay closer attention to the t&c's on the next page. you dont really want to do that.
try split testing with something simple like "Grab Yours Now!", etc, that pust the visitor into a more "buying" mode

also expect your image to be all over ppv in no time now since you posted it here

It's okay. I want to learn, and if I have to give away creatives like this i'm ok with that. Takes about 30 mins to throw together a lander for ppv to me. Anyone can do something similar

Can I ask what size it is dimensions wise

The dimensions are 700x500 px. I think it will look good on any PPV network's popup. I'm going to load some cash to LeadImpact.

So far two of you mentioned that the call to action text is what needs to be improved. Will work on it.

In the meantime, it's time to find a way to harvest URLs for the first campaign (I've opened a thread about it), and set up tracking. As for tracking, well, I have no idea where to start, what to setup. Yet!

    It looks pretty
I do think you need a stronger call to action

Just out of curiosity what offers are you going to use with this lp?

I think free e-mail submit offers, that are easy to complete. Maybe it's a bad idea? There's an average $1 on conversion with US traffic, obviously (got a peerfly and incently account). I've never tried paid traffic before, I don't know. I have to try somehow.

It's possible that I'm on the wrong track with this, maybe I should go with higher paying offers for better ROI, I really have no idea. I guess that's the part when newbies jumping in, they think an email submit is easy to convert and they end up expenses rather than profit. Hm...

On the other hand, now I know that's how a landing page should look like, as you guys confirmed.

It looks fantastic. Great wording, nice size, some elements to grab the user's attention, and a nice big call to action. Good luck!

I have some experience when it comes to driving traffic. I used to push adult sponsors back than and a "check out this insanely dirty babe doing kinky stuff" always worked better than a "download video here" call to action.

Mainstream is a bit different, but here we are just selling something... else.

Thanks for the kind words, keep 'em coming!

Believe me, This is what guru's are doing. It would be better if you add animated border as well.

    - I would consider dropping the spec text.

    - Also get some good audio playing.

    But looks good nice work!

Phew, I always thought autoplaying audio in an html file is total bullshit and why even exists, what's the point of it?

Until now, when Greedy changed my mind. Oh boy... everything happens for a reason!

anything that helps to shift users attention to your pop up helps in PPV, audio included. remember you are paying per views, not per clicks

Yup, got it! Poor surfers. I really feel sorry for those 75325###2131 users who has an adware installed on their computer. We are literally making money on other people's misery.

Imagine a pop in your face while you are working every minute or so. Back in college my roomate got 'infected' with this, and it was so annoying. However, a reinstall solved the 'issue' but hey. PPV is a really grey land... but I like the idea of it! Clever, really clever.

and another tip with the audio is to split test it with no audio during weekdays 9-5 for your targets. you might get quite a few people surfing from work for some targets, and your audio will kill your ctr for these

Really? A VPS is that necessary? Whoa, I'm not that techie... I mean I have a $10 one to get things done with it, but it's definitely not for hosting.

I'm all familiar with HTML, FTP and stuff like that, but don't you guys wanted to mention a dedicated server? I might be wrong, but in my dictionary the VPS stands for a remote desktop Win2003/Linux and a dedi is like a regular shared hosting where you throw your files up using FTP, only difference is I'm having the actual hardware's all resources with a dedi.

The point here there's a difference between a shared VPS and a dedicated VPS.

And now I created a confusing post, sorry about that. Being tired, excited about IM and not native speaker makes things tough.

EDIT: Virtual Private Server. Got it. I have all the resources of the hardware that can speed up load times (that's what is all about, right?) No matter what OS or script I'm using on it. It's "mine". LoL. I'm really tired now.

    yeah, almost right.

VPS is still a shared hosting, but you are using a certain part of the server's hardware resources, thats dedicated only to you. so your performance is not affected by the other "vituals" on this server.

dedicated server is simply that. a whole server with its all hardware resources dedicated to you and only you.

Also look for a VPS with a SSD (Solid State Drive), this is a much faster harddrive than standard disk drives.

    Your LP looks great!

I think it will convert very well. BUT...

If you're going to use PPV, you need to target URLs (NOT keywords).

    Good luck.

Guys ive been trying to figure this out for a while. If I were to use a landing page, does the landing page go into the popup window, or do you have a banner in the popup window that goes to the landing page and then that goes to the offer?

    Popup/Banner > Landing Page > Offer

    OR

    Popup/Landing Page > Offer

The second one mate. The user will see your popup/landing page. (tipically one image centered in a html file and this image is linked to the offer via your affiliate url)

Basically, it's like a 700x400 (or so) billboard that popped in his face. He does not wanted to see it, but if you are smart enough to write a compelling headline he might want to click to that image, and end up on the offer page. And that's the point when he converts to a lead/sale or not.
