Idea About How To Get Into CPA

I usually promote regular affiliate offers so I don't know a whole lot about CPA but I've read about it from time to time. I had this idea about how I might decide to do it if I get involved and wanted to see if it sounds doable.

First of all, I had a couple questions. Is there a good way to find legit incentives? Do companies usually provide the incentive or are you usually required to come up with your own?

Okay, so my basic idea would be this. Buy a PLR site related to my niche. Pay someone to rewrite it if necessary, or otherwise just leave it as it is. Then, go and apply to various networks using that as my site. I can tell them I'm planning on using CPC traffic to get leads.

If I'm approved, I would then find search for the right offer to promote depending on my niche. Then I'd find someone to design the squeeze page for me so I could capture the zip, email, or whatever the lead is for that offer.

My next step would be to find a traffic network and buy a little traffic to test things out. I would send them to the site to read a specific article which would "warm" the prospects to the offer at the bottom.

If I could find a way to get pretty good traffic for a lot enough price and make a profit, the name of the game afterwards would be to test sending traffic to different lead capture pages.

Is there anything I'm forgetting? I have experience as an affiliate, so I can say that when I'm applying to the networks.

Basically, my idea would be to outsource most of the work. I don't know if I want to get into it or not but if I do, I would only want to do it if I could pay others to do most of it for me. And are there any traffic networks that allow clickable text ads besides the major search engines?

By the way, up to now I've only used free traffic to make sales. I'm sure there's a lot to learn about buying traffic too.

What I would do is to choose the product first - in order to get interested I am looking for products that pay £30+ per lead. Then you build a simple website and integrate any forms required. If you have some money to invest my suggestion will be to use PPC as a traffic source. It remains the best traffic source and it is profitable in the long term. Also the merchants will be happy of the quality of your leads and may offer you even better terms.

Any questions - just let me know.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still looking for suggestions from others too.

I've been wondering about something also. If some of these companies offer their own incentive, why do they have affiliates get leads for them? Wouldn't it be simpler and more profitable for them to just set up their own campaigns with paid traffic and get a ton of leads? I'm sure there's a reason, but just wondering what it is.

Edit: I'm most interested in offers that have a low payout, super wide appeal, and a high conversion rate. Things like zip and email submits. Does it matter what my site is about in these cases? I'm guessing it should also be something with mass appeal in order to fit with the offers.
