Search - Content Network Together

Why if I have my keywords each separated to one keyword for each ad group why can't it the campaign run on both the content and search at the same time by clicking the run both networks button in adwords?

who says that you cant run both at the same time?

you can but i would advise against it as the people on search are different to people on the content,

on the content network your are using interruption marketing these people are not looking for your product/service, so your ads need to stand out more to catch the users attention.

also your ctr would suck thus killing your QS if you run the 2 together

on the cont net you should put 50 keywords into each adgoup as google is looking for related sites to show your ad on

Ben is right.. but keep both networks separate. Just think about it.. hwta if the content network is not sending you any sales? Then you are just wasting your money there!

Yes, separate the two into Search only campaigns and Content Network only campaigns for a few reasons:

      1. You will pay ten times more for your CN clicks if you run them combined
      2. You can't run CN as CPM or image ads if combined
      3. Most importantly is how google targets the two types - Search is based on the keywords and Content network is based on the overall them of the keyword grouping

You need to approach each of them differently

      Regards,

      John
