Starting with FB Ads, need some tips! :-)

Hey Warriors!

I am pretty new to FaceBook ads, but I heard they are a great way to start profiting with paid traffic. I am looking to advertise either dating or gaming CPA offers (I heard they convert well!) and I need some help.

Firstly, I have $50 ad credit on my account right now, and another $50 or so in my paypal. Do you think this is enough to find a quite OK campaign? Yesterday I created ads to my gaming fan page (just playing around with it, testing some things and learning) and my best ad had a CTR of 0,3% with 12 cents per click. 100% US traffic by the way. Is that good?

Secondly, I heard that as for dating offers, the international market is a good choice because of lower CPM. Is this true?

Finally, how much money should I spend per ad to test it out? $5, $10 or how much?

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

P.S. It would be great if you could tell me what numbers I should be aiming at... let's say it's a free dating offer where you just have to register. It pays $5. What CTR should I shoot for? How about the conversion?

P.P.S. One last thing, important! I am in the LazyProfits CPA network, and when I choose a offer to promote, I take the tracking/affiliate link and try to use it as my ad link on FB, but FB says that I cannot use "/" and "=" in my ad, so it should be eg. warriorforum.com without any dashes or stuff like that. How can I solve that problem?

That's great. US traffic is the most expensive one so0.12 per click is really good. On the other hand you're promoting a fan page so the cost is lower.

Dating market is the most competttive one so it would be hard for you to promote such offer but the international market is a lot cheaper than US. With right bidding and targeting you can get 0.01 clicks or even 0.00 clicks. There are cople of WSO's about free clicks from FB.

Use a landing page, fb probabbly won't allow you direct linking to a dating offer.

    Good luck ;D

    Thanks for the tips IdeaViator!
Could I just use a simple redirect instead of a landing page?

Bro.. I would suggest u that don't go with facebook if you are trying to get some leads or promoting some CPA offers. You can't get buyers actually from facebook. Facebook is fine for general advertisements. But, if u are looking for buyers, then i would suggest u to try adwords. Mostly people use facebook for just playing online games, using apps etc..

Your CTR and CPC are very good considering that you're getting US traffic.

And if you go with dating, yes, I'd recommend you to start with international campaigns. IMO, non-english speaking countries would be the easiest start.

Regarding testing, I wouldn't consider an X amount of money per ad. I usually consider the number of impressions. Get a few thousand impressions and analyze the CTR, if it's bad just drop the ad. Good ads are usually good right from the beginning, so you don't need to spend a lot of money on testing them.

FB ads is very great but i would suggest you follow Jilawatan advise using google adword. Yes, Facebook would give you targeted location but this are just people within the location. Going with Adword is more targeted with high conversion rates because with even targeted location, these are people that are already looking for what you are selling and are ready to buy. FB marketing is a lot better for CPA offers when you have a lot of Fans/Likes in your facebook fan page. I would stop here. Goodluck

Read the forum rules! And STOP posting nonsense one-liners, before you lose your account.

    IMO..

Start with non-US traffic.. the more "international" you go, the cheaper it generally is and is generally much easier to profit off of.. you need to get your CTR up to around 0.2-0.3%

What you need to think about is the social element side of things, these people are not in a buying mood but they will do anything social orientated. If you go with landing pages, make it a social feel like add some images of "who liked this" etc. Gaming is hot, but direct link to a game not a fan page.
