Anyone know what this means?

I'm looking to promote an offer off commission junction but i'm not 100 percent sure what this means....

We allow for SEARCH and BANNER traffic and are Geo-Targeting US users only.
Now I understand what geo targeting means.. but does this mean these are the only two types of traffic allowed? Or does this generally mean you can use article marketing as well to promote this offer...

if anyone uses cj or promotes offers for CPA do you know what this means?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

it means only banner & search traffic so no other forms of traffic is allowed..
so they are limiting this to just the above only.

Maybe it just doesn't make sense to me.. but why do they care how we generate the traffic?

What makes search traffic any different than me writing an article, someone clicking to my website and then clicking on a link on my website any different?

The way I read this is that you can only use those 2 methods to lead to your landing page. However, it makes sense to write good articles about your niche, which drive traffic to your landing page where people can then click a banner to get to your optin page.

I'm not sure if this is correct, so don't quote me on it, but it seems highly unreasonable for them to restrict article marketing as a means to generate traffic to your landing site especially with how strict the good article directories are getting. Article marketing is on the of the best ways to drive highly targeted traffic to a site.

If you find out anything else on this, please let me know. I'm still new to CPA as well and have much to learn. I will do the same.

The advertiser cares about the traffic because different types of traffic convert differently on the back end. Remember, the advertisers are willing to pay you for the lead because they expect to earn more money in the future for that lead than they are paying you. Some traffic sources attract certain types of traffic that just doesnt convert for some users.

The traffic between search engines is dramatically different for some niches as well. So in the end, they care because they want to make money and if a particular traffic source doesnt make them money, they wont be willing to pay you for the lead.

As far as article marketing, talk with your affiliate manager. Some managers and networks hate article traffic but other are fine with it. I would hate to see you forfeit your commissions, so just speak with them and get their input.
