I have a few queries regarding this topic.

1. What is the general rule at the moment regarding linking your main keywords per article/web page back to the home page?

2. Likewise with cross linking other themed keywords to articles dealing with that keyword?

3. How many links from the articles would create to the home page (I assume you don't want your page being full of links!)

4. Should each article have it's own unique META details even if it is a variation of the same topic?

    Hey Splinter,

Well it was me who said that so I'll try and answer your questions.

    1. What is the general rule at the moment regarding linking your main keywords per article/web page back to the home page?

I am not too sure there is a general rule really. I just do what works for me. I find interlinking posts to work very well personally. I would generally do no more that 3 links (usually 2 actually) per page. These are not link away from your website though, these are linking to the page you are trying to get ranked in the SERPS.

    2. Likewise with cross linking other themed keywords to articles dealing with that keyword?

You dont have to do this, but if the opportunity arises you can do it. Again this is just my preference and it works for me.

    3. How many links from the articles would create to the home page (I assume you don't want your page being full of links!)

Not entirely sure what you mean here, but again, I would go for 3 max.

    4. Should each article have it's own unique META details even if it is a variation of the same topic?

Definitely. I every page/post I have I will write a unique description for. I dont put too much weight on the keywords meta description. I would also change the title tag, bearing in mind that you should keep your keyword right at the beginning.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Pete, I will give this a go and see how it improves my rankings. What I will aim to do is 2 links back to the home page from each article page with 1 possibly 2 max interlinks links leading to another keyword targeted article page

Good idea. Remember your relevant anchor text.
