i used the google caffeine test and found that i was getting better rankings in google caffeine... so i'm actually looking forward to the change... i figure if i am already ranking on page 1 if not #1 in today's google... then nothing will change with caffeine... i guess we'll jsut have to wait and see

the underlying fact is that links will always be important as they are the "glue" off the internet... that one SEO factor will never change... that's my opinion anyway

Just did a quick check, literally every single one of my sites has the same or better rankings in Caffeine. Looks like this is a change that solidly favors people who know their SEO.

I can't wait.

I have some huge jumps with caffeine. Now it's a matter of A-B testing my current rankings with the caffeine rankings to figure out what is different, what is working and focus my efforts in that direction.

Almost the same and even better result! I think this is more marketer friendly...?? Still very skeptic about it, not sure how this affect my long tail keywords.

Have you noticed how much junk (search result pages) have been removed? up to 50% of normal results, GONE!

I have to admit, I haven't payed the kind of attention that I should have been to caffeine. Probably should be giving it as much attenion, or more, as I have been to the current google engine.

The keywords I'm looking at now, the top 10's have remained nearly the same with some shifting around but when I get into page 2 and deeper the changes become more apparent.

After looking through the rankings of some more of my sites, most are up, the ones that dropped, only dropped a few places, I haven't found any major shifts in the wrong direction yet

Now I need to reverse engineer the sites that are at the top or have made significant jumps to figure out what is going on.

Any ideas?

I did a test result with 20 of my key keywords for various sites. Not one was worse with Caffeine. Several were several spots better in Caffeine -- nothing super drastic, but i'll take any help.

Oh man I'm worried. Two of my keywords on page 1 are nowhere to be found! My site is brand spanking new though (was indexed a week and a half ago and domain registered 3 weeks ago) so that might be an important change in their algorithm.

I don't think review pages will get hit.... but duplicate content will. It wouldn't surprise me if the internet has contributed to at least 30% of it out there.

Google seems to shift their algorithm towards more on page optimization, I bet they also implement a lot of filter to take out junk!

Still too early to tell what would happen to our sites...

I have a question about this. I have to admit, I haven't been keeping up with the latest on Caffeine, and I should be.

All of my sites according to this test take jumps upwards. Even a new one I have that is only about 2 weeks old jumps from like #110 to #11.

Now, I'm not complaining, but could these results also be because not as many sites are indexed in Caffeine yet? Or if something is indexed by Google does that also mean Caffeine has indexed it?

My sites all vary in Google Caffeine to how they rank in normal Google - some are much better, some have dropped a little. Interesting because the ones that have the better On-Site SEO and more content have moved up, while others that haven't had as much work have moved down a little.

One of my sites -- earns about $30 a month, is going to go from no.2 to "GONE" -- not to be found in the first 10 pages anyway.

Better look into that. Its a site that i've just left -- it's amazing its been getting visitors really with no updates or anything.

Last time I checked my rankings on Google Caffeine my SERPs were the same or higher.

Now one of my best ranking pages is not even on the SERPs when I checked using Google Caffeine.

What impact might a more aggressive filtration and perhaps even a cleansing of the index of duplicate articles/content loaded with one's "backlinks"?

Big Daddy was a quantum shift. Changed the way EVERY site was ranked.

That's part of it, you'll notice the two comparisons, most searches have approx 30-50% less results that come up.

Push your site down... G are working more closely towards PROPER site structure... If you follow what Brad Fallon and Andy Jenkins do for their shopping sites, you'll see a GOOD example of PROPER Site structure.

I've been designing my sites like that ever since the early days of Stompernet. While incorporating what Wiki-pedia do...

So I have no worries about my rankings, I know mine wont be affected. Luckily I got involved earlier enough to fix my mistakes that many ppl are still doing today.

Gonna be a mission for ppl now to find places to get links from. Forcing ppl to create proper content... and you may notice that the Alexa Bar and PR bar on "some" sites are starting to disappear.

Before anyone gets too excited - the caffeine updates aim is not just to change the search results it mainly sets the stage for Google to make the changes going forward. So what you see now is not what you might get a few months down the line.

It may be under way. I checked my rankings yesterday at the caffeine sandbox, and those rankings are what I'm seeing today. Also, the Caffeine sandbox page isn't available.

GooBingHoo is also not returning Caffeine results.

When I checked with SEO Tool - Compare Google With Google Caffeine!, some of my highly-ranked sites dropped to 0 on Caffeine ranking. Not sure whether this is my bad luck or it is simply because Caffeine Sandbox is unavailable right now.

It means you are better than #1 and your site is so good that google had to remove it from the index to give other sites a fair chance

actually, your other guess is correct, there is no sandbox anymore so tools cant return a number.
