recently I have been trying to create backlinks from a web2.0 site called Free Blogs, Blog Hosting & Photo Sharing at Vox.com and was wondering, if the links were duplicated into different pages, will it still be indexed and counted as a back link by google?

I believe they only count one to the same site.

This is not true. They will count all of the backlinks but the value of each one will decrease as you continue to get links from the same domain. Not really a big deal but don't waist your time trying to get a bunch of links from the same site.

You will get link juice from each page your link is on. The domain is under one IP address so a bunch of links from one IP count but you can water them down by posting lots of links. Find the internal pages with the highest PR and place your link on those pages.

What the one guy above said is false... always take advise on here with a grain of salt lol..

What I think he was trying to say is that adding your link more than once on a single PAGE will not count in googles eyes. Google seems to pick with first link and the anchor text to count while the others lower on a page are ignored.

        Cheers,

        Derek

so that's the way it is. But what if I make a backlink to my own domain without using the main keyword of my blog and just using keyword of my article. Is it ok..?

I would suggest only ever doing, at the most, two backlinks per domain. Google loves it!

So posting articles to EZA linking to the same site loses it's link juice as you post more and more???

Not enough to worry about. Say if 70% of your backlinks are all pointed to one site from the same IP it might impact you a little. As far as we know Google considers each link as a "vote" and the more votes your site receives the more authority Google will give it.

Now if Google sees your site is receiving a large number of votes but all from one site...

They will think something is up and rank you BELOW your competitor who is receiving the same number of votes, but from many different sites.

Thats about the easiest way I can describe it to you.

I have seen many sites where internal links or backlinks from the same site gives a PR boost. but if you didn't build your backlinks before the next PR update, your Pagerank for your website will be dropped

    Please consider
If I want to knock a site from its number 1 spot on Google I use the firefox pluggin
SeoQuake - seo toolbar, plugin, seo extension for Mozilla Firefox
If the results show many links from the same site I know I can easily beat his backlink campaign.
This is not a theory but a FACT derived through everyday practice.
Diversity is the mother of backlinks
There are so many places to get backlinks from take the time to diversify and Google will thank you for it.

All backlinks are counted and are valued by google it just depends on the value of the site your backlink is on. But original content is more heavily weighted by google.

Links from the same domain count fine... Sitewide links count really well, however unique links from the same article directory for example count more..

However, remember that links from unique domains and IP's will count for more.

If it is easy to get multiple links from the same domain for you, go for it.... If not, then focus on differing domains
