Blog Comments - Using The Same Comment

Hello,

Firstly please don't tell me about "ethics" or "spam" lol... I'm purely interested for testing purposes, so if you have the answer to this, please let me know.. okay the question:

One of my link builders is telling me that it is unsafe to use the same blog comment on websites to build links because Google will see that it comes from the same content (the comment) and potentially punish the site, or not credit it as much.

I was thinking surely because the content on the page, such as the main article is different on each blog that surely the same comment would not matter for SEO, or do you think its better to have a different comment each time?

Mark

PS - Please answer this from a SEO perspective, not from a spam, or ethics perspective, thank you.

I love people who use the same comment for all their blog spamming, makes it quick and easy for me to reverse engineer their link targets.

You might want to consider writing more than one comment and spinning each of them and make them to become one article sentence.

I highlyt doubt you would get penalized for the one sentence you add to each blog... Google would have to compare what 10 words before and after your keyword? In my opinion unless the pages are identical it will not penalize for having the same comment.

As some one said it becomes easier to track your comments if you posted the same sentence, but it is easy to do even if you posted a different one... So it is really up to you.

He's right. Especially if you're doing a LOT of comments. Though they won't "punish" you by dropping your rankings. They'll just remove your site from their index for spamming.

If you're going to mass post I'd recommend at least spinning 20-30 different comments a few hundred different times.

To grindstone, when it comes to reverse engineering someones links it doesn't matter whether they have the same comment or not, links are easy to find and reverse engineer anyway using tools like seo spyglass.

Yeah basically similar to what I was thinking that I wouldn't have thought google would penalise because of the same comment since the rest of the page is unique content.

JSProjects - In my experience a site has never been removed from the index using this method, unless ur doing mass submissions to literally 1000's of them. Thats not what I would do, it would be only a couple of 100, the ones that would give the most benefit from their PR etc.

Seems like it may be better to use unique to stay on the safe side, same comment is a lot quicker tho. Cheers for the responses.

You're probably fine. Though I'd still be a little paranoid. (That's just my nature.) I'd at least spin a few comments. It takes a lot to raise red flags, really. But I tend to try and stay on the safe side.

Personally, if it is not thoughtful.... Delete. I would rather have zero comments than a bunch of comment spam.

If unethical there is always an out side chance of the "unknown" happening, While there is no way to prove the benifits or "weight" without testing the theory i would personally be more worried about the potentially huge amount of akismet and stopforumspam and other spam management platforms which are submitted to worldwide databases.

Not something thats been confirmed but again a rumour that these spam blacklist databases are used in ranking factors so if your URL starts popping up in these spam submissions its likely in around about way that it could end up effecting results.

Another good reason as to why blog commenting should be used for the purpose of getting exposure to your site for a good comment and not for the purpose of SEO.

Don't fire these comments to your money site, just the buffer ones.

First if you post the same comment again and again your url will be marked for spam from the most anti-spam programs that blogs use so you will be just unable to comment since all your comments will go to the blog's spam folder, even if it doesn't go to the spam folder bloggers will marked it as spam (you don't have to be a genious to understant if a comment is spam)
