Default Event Directory website

Our site is having a couple issues so I am looking to see if anyone on here can give some advice.

Our site "book sale manager.com" (no spaces) is having a couple issues.

1) we are an event lising site. We list book sales that happen yearly or monthly. Because of this we have pages with similar titles, (the sale has happened in 2009,2010,2011.). I am trying to determine the best way to go about removing the duplicate titles. Would it be best to redirect the older pages to the new one? or 404 them?

2) We recently lost our title and meta description (9/25) in google. No major changes have been made to the site. I looked up reasons this may happen online but I cannot pinpoint the issue. We have not lost rankings, just our information.

3) Any other major issues you think we should address with the website?

Redirecting past events to the event page seems to be the best option.

Thus you should create event pages associated with the venue rather than the date.

Let's have a look.

If you choose Colorado, you get Friends of Lamar Public Library Book Sale for both 2011 and 2012 as different listing results. The book sale info and description are the same - why not add both coming dates to one page and redirect all the similar previous events, which were created as separate pages, there?
