Every Single PR = Reset!

Googles been up to something lately and I noticed a few minutes ago they reset every single website's PR.

Go ahead and check it out for yourself.

there is no need to panic. i think its gone forever now.If so we will have to develop some new standards for link quality measurement. Though a good PR site not necessarily have good backlinks but PR used to make it easy to filter the targeted ones from the crowd. Now as PR is gone, link building and competition analysis will be bit difficult as we are very used to PR.

i have done lotsa link buys in last 4 months and seo was never so easy for me before.though all my high pr paid links are PR n/a now but i am still going to continue with them as those sites still hold the same authority as they were before.and i havent seen any rank drops..rather one my site went up 4 positions during last 3 days.
One of the main disadvantage of PR flush is now it will be difficult for people to find high authority hubs. Fortunately we know many such hubs which we can utilize for now. but what will happen once all are utilized to its maximum cap?

we will have to develop some new standards like mozrank, but i dont trust mozrank. for me, backlinks to the page is only standard that i can think of.

My blog network of sites have all lost there PR and been reset to N/A..

If you check Google you will see many posts over the last several years, even back to 2007 saying Is PR gone? then obviously it must have come back at some point

PR gone everywhere including my sites of-course and Google.com shows a PR 0.

Now we'll have to see if it's temporary or permanent - do you think it's a game changer for SEO and site promotion?

This looks very interesting either we are going to see a change in pagerank worldwide a big update or pr is gone forever. I think Google is just updating pagerank but who knows.

and some other of the 200 signals Google uses to rank.
It's such a dynamic world that the only way is to adapt or innovate...

G has just updated a parameter and the tools all need to update.

How does google track conversion rates..?

All PR checker display N/A pagerank for all sites.
I think this is a temporary down.

Ya i saw a bunch of posts before where google disabled third party PR
searchers, but their own PR still worked

seems that is the case again

Although when I check kws on Market Samurai PR still shows for top 10 sites on Google (SEO competition module)

not sure what PR search tool they are using to get that PR information

PR was there all the time. I had problem with my seo book toolbar as well. but then i checked PR in Google's official toolbar and it worked.. Install google's toolbar as PR is not showing up in any other 3rd party toolbar/plugin so far.

Hmm, I can't check PR in Google's toolbar because I'm running Firefox 6 however, almost every one of my friends is saying that its intact if you use their official toolbar.

prapi.net (not mine, of course) also works well. Seems like they have changed something.

Then they can see on all the sites you go on, all the porn, all the illegal sites, then take you to court and there's nothing you can do about it.

I'd suggest you read Google's entire TOS for all their products, then use their stuff.

They just updated the hash of the toolbar URL.

It's just a matter of time until all the plug-ins get updated with the same hash. Everything is fine, and PR is still there.

Market Samurai also has the correct PR.

They just changed the hash so wait for all the s/w to be updated.

I've seen the root page PR drop on 3 sites. One PR5 has gone to 3 with internal category pages (it's a wordpress blog) still PR 4. Another PR4 -> PR2 with internal pages still 3.

This could be something different but I checked and recorded PR on 4th for all my sites.

How do you check PR?

I check using the extension of Google Chrome and it shows me PR 0 on every site...

The tool bar of firefox shows N/A

No PR for me here in UK but I hear it is working in Spain and Germany. Probably just an outage.

Would be nice to see the PR updated again, should get some PR boosts to my sites as they have been shooting up the SERPS

Are you ****ing kidding me? It is not illegal to go to a porn site. If it was, the internet would be a ghost town and if you think prisons are overcrowded now...

And even if it was illegal, Google would get absolutely no benefit from it. You can't sue someone else for breaking the law unless they did something to directly harm you. It would be a messed up world otherwise.

At first I thought that guy's post was a joke, but now that I reread it, I don't think it is

That's for alerting me that they've all temporarily disappeared. My heart skipped a heart when I performed a PR check a little while back!

If they do get rid of PR for good, then backlinks from RELEVANT sites is going to be the new king in town. If you don't know a site's PR, you have no idea if it would benefit you to get a backlink from them.

So that would cut back on a hell of a lot of profile spam on high ranking domains.. Pretty much the only way to make a quality backlink would be from a relevant site.

Guess we shall find out soon enough!

Currently 23.37 in London and I don't see any PR showing up in Chrome. I think its either an outage OR they're updating PR. I have noticed a spike in rankings...maybe its just my backlinking efforts kicking in....not sure! Hold tight and see!

Everyone, relax. Google updated the URL which is used to query the PR and it caused all plugins, toolbars, and websites to temporarily stop reporting the number until they update their script. Scrapebox already has, for those of you who use that. In the meantime you can use http://www.rankchecker.com/pagerank-checker/ ; it has also already been updated with new script to display PR properly.

I used all of the updated tools listed above, and my highest site is now a PR-2.

So apparently they have NOT killed PR (yet) lol

They just seem to have updated it.

SEO Quake just released a patch (October 6th) with the updated URL for the PR. This should fix the PR issues with the toolbar. You can find the update on their site. Unfortunately, I can't embed the link yet.
