Link Pyramids - How to create it

Been hearing about link pyramids and its importance in SEO ? I would like to start a discussion on this.

What is a Link Pyramid ? why is it important ..

Link pyramids are backlinks created in layers. Instead of creating backlinks which points to your main site, these days experts are creating valuable , contextual links on first layer which is pointing to your money site. Then they create more backlinks to the links which are created on first layer. In second layer number of backlinks would be more (depends on your strategy) and this second layer is mainly to reinforce your main backlinks. Also these tier 2 backlinks helps in passing the link juice to your tier 1. Another advantage which is been noticed is, search engines tend to index and give more importance to links which are supported by additional backlinks.

This strategy also help you to hide your precious backlinks from the evil eyes of your competitors. These link pyramids are a long term strategy and results are build over the period. Those spammy backlinks from forum blasts and auto approved blogs can be used in tier 3 or even tier 4. Important thing about this is, your websites won't get sandboxed (if sandbox concept exist) because those 1000's of links are not created directly to your money site.


How to build link pyramids ?
There are many ways to build link pyramids, it about experiment. Try out which one works best for your keywords. For example, if you are doing bookmarking try to get those bookmarked urls , create a RSS feed out of it and submit it to few RSS directories.

Link wheels work with open spokes and link pyramid works perfectly fine for me. Have you tested this out to see the efficiency ? Also link pyramids are not for quick results alone, it just keep helping you in long run too.

Before dropping a single line saying, it doesn't work , try some testing with your own sites. SEO is not just about reading but experimenting and experiencing..

Link pyramids definitely work, and they're quite safe. Essentially, you're building backlinks to your backlinks, which makes them that much more powerful. See my sig for more info.

Building up page authority of the pages going to the pages that link to you I think is an increasing factor based on experience

The Idea behind the Link Pyramid is that while link juice can pass from one site to the next, ranking penalties generally stop after one hop.

Exactly and another thing is hide your backlinks from your competitors , but still pass on the link juice. There are lot many benefits with link pyramids and its so powerful, I feel pity when some come here and drop one single line saying link pyramid don't work.

All warriors , SEO is an experiment some thing which works today may not work tomorrow (example forum profiles pointing to main site directly), some thing which didn't work yesterday may work today in a different form .. So please try out which ever you feel like logical and take your call.

Reading a a part of SEO but Reading and Doing is real SEO .. So writing what works is .... shhhhh WSO ..

That's why we need to minimize footprints

In these hard times where blog networks are getting de-indexed , relevance of link pyramids is getting better. Also link diversification is the key to get your bad links diluted and get back to your SERP.

I am pretty sure these link structures would hold good for years to come.
