All depends.. If you can't run a 5 article site, how well do you think you will do with a 500 article site?

The key thing to a large site is you really need a strategy. So it will come down to what you personally want to get involved in to be honest.

Start with one big site, keep scaling it, once you've reached your peak, move onto more sites. Don't take on too much at once. Develop a guide or a method that will work everytime for your goals, similar to what I offer in my sig. Keep working on it and use it to plan your attack for your next site. In IM time is important, don't waste it building small sites you burn through, make legit sites you can profit from in the long term, while still having short term profits.

I have 2 large sites, 1 that currently has adsense on it and over 1000 pages of content. The other is a lot newer and only has like 100 maybe 150 pages. In both cases the same thing applies though, the over all concept of the site is so vague that I can probably keep adding articles to target new keywords for years. The advantage I am seeing is it has become increasingly easier to rank pages.

Not yet but I only started 8 months ago.. so far doing about 50-75 per day from Adsense, haven't branched out to other income streams yet. My 2nd large site I am working on doesn't have adsense on it and only gets like 3 dollars a day but it doesn't get a ton of traffic yet and still very much a work in progress.

At the moment.. do about 3 per day but thats only because I am out of general article mode. Lately been spending more time on site structure and details, fine tuning a lot of things and back linking. Finally trying to learn how CPA's work and such to take advantage of those income streams.

I still kick myself for not learning about this stuff sooner because to be very frank, the only thing that limits your income potential is you (or me in my case). I view things based on a yearly income and even at a 100 a day you are still only hitting basically 36k a year.. not a fantastic income. The key is having a plan though like in my case, only using adsense at the moment while I am learning and building solid traffic. Once I have achieved that then I can leverage that traffic into other things like selling ad space and such. This is one of the reasons I personally avoid MNS and stick with large sites that can command a higher value ad space.

My only advice is to make sure you selected the right keywords when you started, and keep doing SEO with that much content. It's the perfect position to be in right now, also why don't you put Adsense on your other site? As well, ever consider putting Amazon on your sites as a 2nd way to make money, I always do..

$75/day is not much, maybe starting out it is, but lol.. To be honest I've done $3,000 days, that's real money..

I don't buy them nor write them.. you are safe from me but then again I also don't sell used cars either .

I think the main problem people have is they sit on these forums looking and expecting the next great answer or solution. Trust me if someone figures out something cool and interesting, by the time you hear about it he will have already played it out several times. In my opinion if you can't figure this stuff out in months then you probably are spending to much time asking questions rather then looking for answers.

I don't really do much keyword research to be honest, I find a subject I feel like writing about and then I figure out what are the words/exact match/phrase is being used in google. I think figure out what the long tail keywords and keywords that are related. Once I have that information I start writing and will generally write 3,5 maybe 10 articles on the subject. One of the key things I want for my website is a bounce rate of 5%, the more chances an ad is in front of a reader it increases the odds them seeing something worth clicking on.

Nelapsi my friend we are on the same page, I like how you say you don't make much, just 50 to 75 dollars a day , when that's many marketers dream income. For me a large site is the only way to go. As you said, it may take some time to see ROI, but you will if you keep at it.

Not settling for 75 a day is a great attitude, strive for more and you'll have more, as you stated above looking for answers on here can be a waste of time, it's better to test yourself, that's something I had to learn.

I would go for one site as you can give one site your undivided attention and once it is built you can add pages and if your site is PR4 or PR5 the link juice will be passed to it.

Exactly, people ask so many questions concerning keyword research but seriously how long does it take to write an article, get it indexed and just see how it does. I like your train of thought Nelapsi. But you also have to consider that not everyone has the English or grammar to write articles for free.

I'd say go for the big authority type site. Having to manage hundreds of sites sounds like a technical nightmare.

Not at first, what I would do is put a fun twist on a medical site, instead of being like all the rest. Expect it to be a while before you rank in the medical niche.

This has always been my biggest problem, but there are ways around it, make a site with a laid back vibe to it, where you can talk as if your texting, the average person uses all kinds of slang while texting, use that to your advantage.

In my opinion having a few smaller sites is a good idea, especially if you're just starting out. It's easier to rank them, thus you learn the basics, as well as you'll have an income stream that can support establishing your main site when the time comes. Not to mention the thing with the eggs and the basket.

The big question is why are you doing it.. Because it will make you money? Because the CPC is off the chart? Because someone said it is the best niche for adsense? Because you are a doctor?

If people learn and understand one simple concept they will be set.. create a site that generates traffic, the clicks and money will come. As long as you are sitting on the side lines without a site, you won't get a single page view, single click nor a single penny.

While I'll agree with you, there are a few honest ones out there. I believe good goes around, and I value honesty and integrity, they are the core values of my business and myself personally... For me it's not, but for some getting started in IM it's a great foundation, let's consider $75/day is $27K/year before taxes. That's not enough to live off comfortably here in the US; in New York you're going to see most of that $ going to your rent/expenses. $3,000/day takes a long, long, and I will say it once more long time to even come close to that point, we're talking a large network of quality, branded sites, etc. The time invested to get to that point is overwhelming. On the other hand, anyone in IM can set goals for $30-40/days, honestly I think that's the perfect starting point within reach. After that you can scale it get your plan down and keep going at it. There is no overnight guide to success in IM, at some point you'll have to really sit down take some point and do some work.
