Learn the Dynamics of Directory Advertising to Increase Your Website Traffic
- ARTICLES |
The first thing to take note of is that you do need some capital to make this system work, but once you set up, it just runs infinitely sending you targeted traffic.
Here goes:
Step 1 - Find Web Directories To Submit To
Step 2 - Write Short Killer Ad Copy
Step 3 - Submit Your Ads To Web Directories
Now let's look at this system in depth and see how it pulls never ending traffic to your sites:
Step 1 - Find Web Directories To Submit To
There are two kinds of directories you can submit your site to: general directories and niche directories. Both can be highly effective in driving autopilot traffic. Search for niche directories by searching for your niche's main keywords plus the word directory on Google. You should be able to find some directories that specifically cater to your niche. For general directories, the two main ones you want to submit to are Dmoz and the Yahoo Directory. It will cost money to get listed in here, but it will be well worth your while.
Step 2 - Write Short Killer Ad Copy
The key to writing effective ads for the directories is to keep them short, concise and benefit driven. Think of them as Pay Per Click ads and you will do fine. The formula for writing these ads is to state your key benefit up front and also add in a call to action to get them to click on your link. Here's another secret: Start your ad with the letter A or with numbers. That will give you a prime position in the directories as their listings often follow the alphabetical order.
Step 3 - Submit Your Ads To Web Directories
Now that you have your ad, go and submit them to the list of directories that you have found. It can take a few days up to a few weeks for your listing to appear, so be patient. If your ad isn't approved after a while, contact the directory.
