A Membership Rewards Program Can Inspire Enthusiasm
A good membership rewards program can work wonders to inspire members of an Internet Marketing program. It’s great to earn sales commissions, but sometimes it’s the other little bonuses that motivate people to get on board.
Member rewards are nothing new. They have always been common in the fields of sales and marketing, and they are prevalent throughout all sectors of the consumer service industry. You collect reward points at department stores and travel points with your credit cards, for example.
Most affiliate programs and Internet Marketing plans that I have seen do not have a separate membership rewards program. Rather, the rewards are all built into the compensation plan. Nothing wrong with that. However, the companies that do offer a separate rewards plan probably experience greater loyalty and better results from their sales and marketing affiliates.
I don’t believe there is any kind of a “standard” rewards plan or system in the Internet Marketing industry. Companies that provide such incentive programs would simply design their rewards plan to fit in with their products or services and to appeal to their marketing affiliates.
The rewards can come in any shape or form. You might receive points that are accumulated and can be applied towards the cost of products or services provided by or sold by the company. You might earn entries in draws and contests sponsored by the company and open only to active affiliates. Winners might receive physical prizes, free services, or even cash prizes.
There could be a variety of ways to qualify for the rewards points. It might be based on certain tasks to be completed, or certain numbers of sales made or new members sponsored into the marketing plan. Again, how a program is set up will depend on the company and the type of sales affiliates they have. Different rewards appeal to different people.
Personally, I don’t specifically look for affiliate companies that offer a rewards program, but when I do come across one that does, I take a good look at it because I believe that any company that goes the extra mile to provide such a program has a good understanding of what people want and what motivates them. That means the company will make the effort to do things to reward the affiliates and try to make them happier.
A good membership rewards program can also add an element of fun and excitement to the marketing activities. Anything that makes my job as an Internet Marketer more enjoyable is fine by me. Everybody appreciates a little extra attention and incentive. I know I do.
