Arrow A Heads Up

Some of us are getting really irritated by the
childish behaviour that goes on in here. This
is supposed to be a Copywriting Forum. Not
a kindergarten.

Pay Attention
, Im only going to say this once:

The bitching, whining, mud slinging and taking
of pot shots STOPS right here and right now.

Else, some of you.. Yes, I'm talking about several
people.. Will have great difficulty logging into the
forum. Period.

Do I make myself clear?

John

What would be good to see is all of us
pulling together, helping one another more,
rather than taking cheap shots at other
copywriters that we feel are a threat
against our business.

I for my part should have ignored some of
the comments aimed at myself and just
allowed them to slide by, without
responding to them.

This is difficult though, when others seem
intent on destroying one's reputation and
integrity. One of course should be allowed
to fight one's corner if one feels that other
posters are unfairly attacking another
individual's business. When downright snide,
inaccurate and derogatory remarks are
made, I think anyone would do the same
and feel the right to defend themselves
and their personal business interests.

Unfortunately, this has gone to a whole
new level which just upsets this forum
for everyone else.

I say we all call it quits and try our best
to learn to get along with each other more,
rather than allowing our own egotistical
natures to get in the way of other Warrior's
pleasure here.

I would much rather some of us actually
got along with each other, rather than all
this silliness. There's plenty of work out
there for absolutely everyone.

Certainly this has all put me off a great
deal helping other Warrior's here.

Let's start moving this forwards in the
right direction now and work together to
be more positive overall.

Also voting for this to be a sticky thread.

No, it's isn't difficult. It's easy.

There's one overiding rule in the entire forum.
If you have a problem with another Warrior,
you deal with it privately.

The alternative is to report any post that you
feel goes over the line.

Then you get on with the discussion in an adult
and professional manner.

I wonder if any of you realise just how much
potential damage you're inflicting on your online
reputation with all the bickering?

Seriously.. Play Nice!

Believe you me John, I know it is easy.

What is difficult however, is constantly
trying to fend off constant attacks on
my reputation.

Sure, I haven't handled things as well as
I would have liked to have done so at
times, but when you get 4/5 other
copywriters lamblasting you from every
direction, I would challenge anyone to
remain completely polite in defending
one's own position.

I've stated this a number of times, I love
helping out other posters whenever I can,
but then for others to wade in posting the
most incredibly stupid remarks it is bound
to get anyone's back up.

Before my last ban, I had several of them
here going for my jugular, it was vile. I
hated it. It went completely against my
normal personality to respond to them in
kind. But what does one do? What recourse
is there? By that point I had lost all faith
that anyone actually cared enough to put
a stop to it.

Instead, I felt the right to defend my
position.

I don't claim to be a copywriting god as
one or two so succinctly put it at the time,
far from it. I'm still learning this business
every single day. However, to be on the
receiving end of such remarks, constant
references to being a drunkard etc ... is
bound to get up anyone's nose after a
while. What's more such a comment is
libel, as I'm sure you too are well aware.

Many other posters appreciate me being
on this forum, in fact I received many
communications from other Warriors
supporting my right to defend myself
against the constant attacking remarks.
One only has to look at the number of
thanks to my posts to see that 25% of
my posts are actually appreciated by
other posters. Surely that is some
indication of where my true nature is.

I hate this bickering as much as anyone
else. It's revolting. It's not needed. And
what's more it upsets the forum for
everyone else. When there is a rule on
the WF about not attacking other Warrior
Members, that rule should apply to
everyone, not just a select few.

Again, as stated above, I would much
rather see us all helping one another,
being encouraging, supporting one
another rather than seeing these
devisive stances taken. To be perfectly
honest, it's absolutely bloody ridiculous
the low standard it's got to here now.

It's about time we all started pulling
together. Working together we could all
achieve so much more.

I'm prepared to do my part and can only
hope that others will start pulling their
own weight too.

This is a shared responsibility afterall.

John, skip the potential damage. It's very real damage IMHO.

I've gain countless clients... tens of thousands of dollars in additional projects... even getting free phone consultation time with eight-figure earning guru marketers...

Simply by making a lot of effort to be polite and professional in online forums.

Take care,

Mike

I think John's point is to shape up or ship out. I don't think he wants to
read about passing blame or "poor me" banter.

I blame nobody for anything offensive I may have said. I have been involved
in and watched a lot of over the top behavior lately.

It is easy to avoid, it starts with that little clicker and some awareness...

Thanks to pro's like Mike Humphreys for interjecting his opinion without
insulting or belittling anyone. That seems to be a rare skill.

There is more than copywriting techniques to be learned here

There is no "poor me" banter Paul.

I think he is saying that "several" need to
shape up.

That includes you and me and a few others.

As I've stated, it would be better to start
learning how to get along with each other
rather than putting more little digs in.

The whole purpose of this thread is for all
of us to start getting more positive towards
each other, which I am in full agreement
with him upon.

OK, it seems that the majority are "getting" it.

There has been some appalling behaviour in this
forum and there's no point going over who said
what to whom or trying to lay blame. Nor is there
any point in being defensive or trying to legitimize
it. What's done is done.

This is a line in the sand.

From this point on everyone finds a way of working
together in a polite, professional and constructive
manner.

There's nothing wrong with friendly banter, However,
even the slightest hint of things getting personal and
well... you really don't want to even risk finding out.

One thing you need to remember is this

The Internet has a LONG memory

Since I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY
I don't take Cr@p from anybody

When I first came online I got into a TON of
fights on Forums

Since then I have mellowed

But there is still stuff out there from YEARS
ago that I wish wasn't there

So next time you get ready to push enter just
imagine your mom is looking over your shoulder

Jack, I remember not so long ago, you made some posts elsewhere that kinda rubbed people the wrong way.

When you realized that you were coming across like an insulting, big-headed jerk (which was not your intent) you clarified, apologized, and dialed it back immediately.

In other words, man, you showed Sincerity and Class.

Is copywriting such a small, competitive market that copywriters have to go for each other's throats? Interesting. I think I'll get into the copywriting gig
