The best way to write a sales letter is to sit infront of a mirror and try and say things that would make the you in the mirror buy the product and write down the things you say. Do it a couple of times and you would be amazed what you would have written down.

        Hi Pnigro,

Writing an effective and well stuctured sales copy needs to learn quite a few things. You've got few useful advice about starting. I just want to add my 2 cents.

        About the methods:

        - Imagine: you are with your friend in a room together and you are telling to your friend why he should buy your product. Based on it jot down your sentences. Write to a person who is your imagined ideal buyer.

Warning: You cannot sell to everybody so write only to your ideal customer.

        - Remember: when you purchased a product last time and see the sales copy of that product again. Study it thoroughly why you purchased that product, which was the momentum turned you in to buying.

        About the structures:

A sales letter has about 8 - 10 different sections and these are builded up onto each other.

        - a compelling headline
        - an opening paragraph (hook) in which you identify a problem
        - build up your credibility with your story (why they need to trust in you)
        - introduce a solution to that problem (show your product up)
        - put up your bullet points (eg. curiosity, specials, benefits of your product)
        - put up testimonials (which show your product's results and buyer's trust in you)
        - put up your price (start with big then go toward lower and lower)
        - show up your quarantee (how remove you the risk of buying)
        - it's time to call to action (recap: what they will get, bonuses, how to order, etc.)
        - PS section

        That's it.

I hope it helps you in some manner.

        Many successes,

        Sandor

My additions to this excellent advice would be:

          a) in the p.s. - be sure to play on their "fear of loss" trigger. In other words, what bad things will happen if they don't buy.

          and...

          b) in the headline(s) get their attention with a benefit. (hint: everyone wants a push button, instant cure that requires almost no effort)

    Dan Kennedy is the best!

Yes, there are products out there that will teach you how to write a sales letter.

The previous responses were correct -- find a great sales letter and model it.

    Don't copy it.

    Model it.

    Use it as a guide.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

There are 2 ways to do it.

    1. Hire a copywriter (Expensive but works!)

    2. Do it yourself by learning and modeling after successful product salespages.

Take a look at how others are doing right. Especially for those which are doing well in sales. Look at how the sales letter is structured, their headlines, their sub-headlines, taglines and what are the elements in their sales page.

Learn from 2 or 3 good ones and you have a rough idea to compile a summary of key points.

From there, you have a working skeleton for you to elaborate on.

The art of the sales letter will take a WHILE to learn... It usually doesn't come overnight. You can learn it quickly with some products, yes, but it comes down to writing them, over and over, and over and over. Until it's second nature. It's like driving a car. You need to practice to get good, but when you get good, you stay good, and maybe refer back to a guide once in a while.

I have written several $100,000+ sales letters as of now and am really happy to have learned this skill..

      Thanks for the advice guys.

I might hire a copywriter but:

      1) The product and sales letter will be in spanish
      2) I want to learn how to do it
      3) I have little money

      :p

Well, there are Sales Letter Creators/Wizards out there. They at least let you get a quick start going, no matter if you are writing in Spanish or English. No, they are not that great, but they do give you a nice template at the end to work on.
I also think that if you have a great product that people want to buy, then it is quite a bit different than trying to sell a digital product like an information ebook etc. that you have to convince them to buy.
Also remember, that most people have a grade 5 reading skill, plus testing has shown that most people look at the headline(S) bullets and the bottom. If those don't work, they click their favorite button "BACK"

I was going to give you the structure I use, but see that Sandor's post really covers it. So I'll just second his advice!

Just make sure your headline immediately conveys the benefits of what you are offering, and not just the product itself. Nobody cares about features, they only care about results.

PS I don't know your technical skills, but there are good sales letter templates you can buy online. I bought a package of 9 templates for $9, picked one and edited it using DreamWeaver. Saved a ton of time and the template basically follows the structure laid out in Sandor's post. I can't post URL's yet, but PM me if you want the name of the site. Good luck!

Pnigro, sales letter isn't something that is going to be perfected overnight.

It seems you are looking "just for a sales letter" to sell your product.
If you need just the sales letter to make money right now, it's going to save you a lot of time and effort just hiring an experienced copywriter to write the salesletter for you. You may pay a little bit of money, but learning copywriting is an art and art takes time to perfect. Amateur sales letters fail to elicit any sort of response from buyers.

    Sort out your priorities first:

    1. do you want to make money?
    or
    2. do you want to learn writing sales letters?
