A fairly advanced knowledge of sales letter components and persuasion elements is needed to correctly dissect a salesletter.

If you have a specific sales letter in mind, PM me and I'll dissect it for you.

If you already have a sales letter, just run it and do split test.

Install ClickTale to record mouse behaviour and hire someone to analyze that info if you are not good at it.

    Hi Mario,

Dissecting a proven high performing sales letter can be very helpfull.

    It has its limits also.

    Here is what I mean.

I don't know if you can remember the hit movie The Secret?

Well the author of the book of which the movie was based
on wanted to sell an expanded training of it into the Spanish Market.

Sounds straight forward...use the same concept that worked
so well in USA, Canada and Australia.

Fortunatly the author had a copywriter who surveyed the
    Spanish people.

His survey results showed that the Spanish people believed
    their life was pre determined.

The author and his followers believe that their lives can be
    molded into what they desire.

So the copywriter had to acknowledge the Spanish point of
    view right in the headline.

As a result, PPC campaigns got an opt-in rate of 40%.

So the point is, you still have to meet your prospects where
their thinking is about your topic first.

    All the best,
    Ewen

Ross Bowring has a killer report about this in the War Room ("Stripped Naked Sales Letters").

Also... check out Carlton's "License to Steal".

I've heard good things about Fortin's "Copy Doctor" but have never subscribed.

    That should get you started.
