How to test a page before launch

You have a product launch coming, and you need a sales page for it, nautually. How do you test that page before you launch without launching? My guess is you don't but you do your best to get some eyes on the page for tweeks and hope it works.

One could, but what if you don't really want to sell that product before launch?

Then the best you can do is do a dry run.

Sell the product (and therefore test your letter) but don't actually deliver the product for X number of days. And there are certain legalities involved in that.

As Kyle mentioned, you could use PPC to drive traffic as a pre-test. Or you could do a dry run, maybe with a smaller email list of yours.

I'd set up some multi-variate testing on the sales letter either way. Use that initial rush of traffic to find your best converting headline, offer, and so on.

    Hope that helps,

    Mike
