    Says the guy on stage with a mic speaking to an auditorium full of people who paid to see him. You have to be a natural marketer to make it in comedy.

    I like Bill Hicks though, wish he could have stayed around longer.

      Bill Hicks could be a poster boy for the tobacco industry.

      ...an unpaid, dead poster boy.

      ... maybe he was trying to say something by indulging
      an addiction to a advertising-driven (plus gloriously
      addictive) product like cigarettes, but from what
      I've seen and heard, the irony is lost on many
      of his fans. Many seem to think he's the epitome
      of cool, snarky intelligence.

      Don't get me wrong, I like Bill Hicks - I just think the
      cult that has grown up around his message is
      just as deluded as the 1960s jazz fans who
      thought heroin was cool because talented
      cats were using it.

    Answering the original question, though... In retrospect I think I wrote a sales letter for a Ponzi scheme a few years ago.
