Hi all,

Im in need of a good and affordable copywriter.

I desing websites but i also offer the service od writing the content for any website that the owner requires it.

So are there any coprwriters out there who i can work with to pass work onto to write content for websites? This could include all sorts of content from Plumbers to Kids entertainers, from Glazing companies to gardening services.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Please feel free to recommend here or message me.

Good copywriting, since it far and away sells more than it costs, is by definition affordable.

You're confusing keyword stuffing generic content pages (sold for pennies per ton) with copywriting. Content is cost. Copy is profit.

A copywriting teamup brings you a different class of customer. A kind of customer you may not be selling to now. So please, please, refrain from the "My customers won't ..."

It's about selling. It's about creating value. It's about persuasion and design. That means customers, by definition, WILL.

And, if, by chance, that's not your personal experience ...then you're doing it wrong. Unfortunately, that may mean a rethink -- moving from web site construction to web design firm. Before you contact anyone. (no, it's not the same thing)

No. Sales multiplied. Profits increased. Or whatever the client objective is.

Clients don't want, for instance, a CMS. Not Drupal. Not Joomla. And they don't want posts or articles, either.

They may want to develop more desirable products. So, using that as an example, you would not slap up a Drupal install, switch on a few modules, and leave.

You would develop strategy and solve problems, conduct user testing and develop a style guide. And bill for that value added service.

Again, you have to radically alter your world view. In your world, I can't get several hundred dollars for ..no code ...no layout ...and ZERO writing. In my world, I get hundreds for a critique and thousands for writing one page.

It's not about articles. It's about what happens after.

When a client says they want the ability to edit a web page. Try asking why ...then why ...and why again. After all the nonsense stuff is out of the way, they want what the objective is for all the things they said before.

So can you explain how can you help my business grow and what would the cost be to myself? Or would this come AFTER when the results are shown? Im slightly confused by your replies and forgive me but youre not exactly talking plain english!

    so talking laymen terms?.....

    regards,
    Simon

I'll show you a different type of design people pay more for, and set you up with a system for exactly what to do to sell at prices higher than the competition.

In other words, the exact opposite of slashing prices by 50%.

Recently, I did a concierge service for physicians to recommend specialists. For just the introduction slideshow introducing the concept for the site, the billable was $250. It had exactly two (2) slides.

Actually it's an unknown -- mostly due to confusion between copy and articles. Most of the end results are sales related.

Some of those looking for article writers don't understand they're really looking for copy.

Interesting really, given the web's focus on writing, so many have so little idea about different types or which to use when.

      John,

are you saying you can help my business grow, but using alternative methods than what im currently using?

Im open to all offers as im 100% convinced the service i provide is good, well otherwise there'd be no point in doing this!

      Regards,

  • What he is saying (forgive me John if I'm off base) is that you're providing the wrong service.

You need to use the same skills (web design skills) to build online PROFITS - not online websites.

And you need a copywriter, someone who writes content with the sole purpose of getting people to purchase something or submit their information (as opposed to someone who writes articles, which is for the most part just filler content and search engine juice.)

If you build websites that make money, instead of looking pretty, and hire a copywriter to create the content, instead of an article writer, your clients will see a profit - instead of just a pretty, useless website.

Which of course provides more value, and you can charge more for your services - a fee relative to the increase in profit your clients will see.

    Make sense?

What I will say is never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time ...and annoys the pig.
