I have been now listing items on EBAY for few months now and since my account is new I am not getting enough sales at all. One or two maybe in few months so is EBAY platform only for the powersellers.. If so how can you become a powerseller when the sales are not coming at all. I have even tried lowering the price of items but still no sales. Any ideas on this warriors.............

Find out what the powersellers are selling and sell that. Perhaps, do some promotions if it's within your budget.

Maybe it's all about your product.

You have to know what products have really high demands on eBay.

Or maybe you have to change your marketing strategies.

I have tried few diff products but what I have been noticing is that the first page results are filled with the powersellers and only if I decrease the prices which ruin the margins is the only way to get some sales.

Hi there I have been on ebay a few years now.

When I look at my dashboard I see that I am slowly making my way to become a powerseller. I am not sure I will though as the demands by ebay for delivery and returns are quite high but on the otherhand you get put higher in the listings. I try keywords that are being searched already and what I also do is look for another item which is similar and getting a lot of traffic and watchers and then I click under that listing "sell one like this" and start my listing from there. I try to do lots of photos and put as much information as possible. Ebay like you doing free postage if you can and putting tracking information on when you post.

Unfortunately you have chosen to follow the crowd and join the huge number of competitors selling the same product.

This makes it much more difficult for you to make sales without some very clever marketing. With very low value and commonplace items such as you are selling that doesn't give you a lot of options.

My suggestion is that you try to find a product that is not being sold by hundreds or thousands of others.

The most successful people I have taught how to source and import are the ones who have found a product that is not already being imported into their country. They are buying direct from the manufacturers in China, or in some cases other countries, and making huge profit margins.

    Consider to do the following:
    1. Optimize titles, add popular synonyms to product name
    2. Add more products to your store. If you analyse successful stores on eBay you'll see they have thousands products in their store

First of all, ebay is not just for powersellers.
Second you can be a powerseller too!
Open a pro account, start with limited listings then every month call ebay and ask for more listings. Keep adding products, getting feedbacks and sales in certain amount of time. Taa daa you are a power seller!
    Good luck

I found best results when optimising the title and making sure the description is as professionally presented as possible, hosted pictures externally etc. I'm not trying to put a downer on you here, but is the mobile phone cover the best market to be in. From what I can see it's hit saturation and with every newsagent, side shop charity shop, super market all stocking them. You're swimming against the tide, how many of these do you have to sell to turn a profit, imagine billing your own time. From my time in legal, I billed every 6 minutes of my time and this has taught me the absolute importance of quantifying what needs to be done when.

Just my thoughts. Good luck with everything mate.

I am an Ebay Powerseller and I have found that you need to get into as many different markets as possible with unique products.
Its no good buying wholesale goods that everybody else is selling.
Try selling second hand unique items. This way you are not following the crowd.
I agree with the other comments about mobile phone covers.... too many people in this market unless you offer some unique designs, then you have to be careful about copyright.
So in conclusion I would say change your approach and look for unique items.

I tried selling on Ebay again recently after 7 years of not selling there. They had limited me to only 3 products, I contacted their support and they gave me the runaround so I gave up....

Seems like it is not the way it used to be, it is more selective and exclusive.

anybody can be a powerseller, i have been one as long as power sellers were first established....it's easy buy stuff cheap, sell it for more money... seriously not hard to do.... the item you linked to is the last thing i would try to sell on ebay..... go to a yard sale, look at things pick the item up, look it up on ebay, did it sell? how much did it sell for ??? if it sold for $10 or $12 offer the guy at the yard sale $1 or $2 .... do the same thing at going out of business sales..... ems stores and sports authority is going out of business as we speak, go to the sales especially towards the end of the sale .... look for deals ... stay away from tech, and other items that people flock to.... hard to find collectibles, discontinued makeup, discontinued pens at staples they have a great clearance section where i have made 5 figures each year in that store alone. scan craigslist for vintage jewelry, couponers items, old toys, yard sales, estate sales. stay away from dropshippers, why sell what others are selling??? makes no sense to me. this is easy, no reason to over think ebay, i knew nothing about computers in 1998 in fact i read an article in the wall st. journal and they mentioned that ebay was a site to make money, so i bought a computer, I never turned one on before, I made a $275 sale one week later on a box of baseball cards in fact i didn't even take a picture, back then you could do that. it was easy and it still is easy. get out there and buy stuff..... spend a few hundred bucks and compound your money into more inventory ... rinse and repeat

The supply and demand is the name of the game in Ebay. If you are listing products that are not in demand, you won't get as many orders.

I highly recommend you run some Facebook and Instagram ads against your Ebay listings to get more attention. Optimizing your product listing to keywords that are highly searched also helps.

No, ebay is definitely not just for powersellers. You can take a new account and and have it grow within a relatively short amount of time if you list the right items. Find out whats selling and sell it, its as simple as that. Don't just go to other sites and find cheap items and list them on your store, ONLY list items that are proven to sell

You really need to gain an understanding of how to generate sales. Forget about profit, its all about sales.

Customers aren't interested in making you money.

eBays Cassini search engine is based on several factors, being a Top rated Powerseller does help rank you highly, however there are other things which are taken into account.

As you become more of an established seller on ebay, you can afford to start raising your prices slightly.

Ebay are very keen on you developing your reputation as a seller and to do this you'll need to up the volume of your sales.

I used to think that views and watchers were important, but really they aren't a great indication of sales, so don't be fooled.

Tip - use similar keywords that successful sellers use.

What you're missing is a lot of ebay sellers are bringing buyer traffic to ebay from external sites.

I know one seller that sells parts on ebay for diesel pickup trucks is generating traffic on a same niche forum, he has easily sold over $100,000 in parts last time I checked.
